I’ve seen several posts lately on FB (and one or 2 on here) of connect owners with a front window leak. Curious on this forum if that’s been a common problem? We had a leak in the front bedroom but it appears it was not at the window and hopefully is repaired…but after seeing several other window leak reports I’m concerned maybe it *was* the window. Supposed to have 2 inches of rain in a single day this weekend so I suspect we will find out, but wondering if there’s a systemic problem I should be on the lookout for?

Yes, it has been a systemic problem across just about every RV I have dealt with. Every manufacturer, every type- truck camper, travel trailer. This is not an exclusive KZ problem. My opinion is the front window is difficult to keep sealed due to the pressure when traveling and possibly some different stresses due it being on a end wall rather than a side wall. What to do? Be very aware of the need to make sure the window is completely sealed and inspected regularly. If your not sure what to look for, try to find a friendly RV tech who will show you what to look for- or just search you tube. I also think it is critical that the small bead of sealant applied at the window frame-body is intact all the way around- not just on the top of the window as typically done on side walls.

So far no issues on my 2021 and we have seen a ton of hard rain. I will keep an eye out now though.

Well our leak was resolved and not the window - a gap in the LED light strip entry point. No further water despite some wicked rains.
Also checked with the tech about the windows, dealer had them resealed before sale due to recommendation from KZ. Interesting, KZ apparently knew there were some issues with batches of their new trailers. Anyways, also got the tip that for the most part, the seal is visible from the inside if you look carefully and if you aren’t seeing daylight, it should be intact. Will be periodically checking!

Ours is at the dealership now because of a front window leak. Upon inspection after finding a wet mattress we could see daylight through about a four inch gap on the driver’s side just above where it makes the curve to the bottom.
We brought the camper home after the window was removed and resealed, now it leaks from the top. So now another two hour trip back to the dealership and an estimated two week wait.

Yep. And it’s daggum hard to dry out a mattress😳. Not to mention the things stored in your pass through area that weren’t intended to get wet. Geeshhh. QUALITY CONTROL!!!!

So far, so good. But I'm watching it closely now. It's been a wet year so far, but no leaks that I've seen.

The day we went to pick up our Connect a workman was there reinstalling the front window. Our dealer noticed the leak and made repairs before we took possession.

I noticed a large water stain on our mattress topper a day prior to our week long trip. There was a large light leak near the bottom corner of the window and I immediately called the dealership to see what could be done. Their temporary fix was applying a silicone sealant along the inside and outside of the area. I could only apply the silicone along the inside since the nozzle didn't allow me to get between the window and front of the rv. Later that day, it rained around 2" and it held up. I am waiting to hear back on the warranty, so I'll monitor the area and reapply the silicone if needed.

Our Connect 272FK front window leaked (small river) when we got it home and hosed all the windows down to check for leakage. Guess the dealer forgot that one step during the dealer prep stage. Had to return the camper to the dealer where they had to remove the window and re-epoxy the entire seal. Problem with the epoxy and accelerator not applied correctly. Fortunately no issues since the re-install.

We purchased our K-Z 2022 211MKSE in June. The day of delivery, the salesman said “Hey, by the way there are 2 stress cracks in your front window, but they should not affect your use. They ordered the new window under warranty to be replaced. Well… we took the camper out this weekend and there was a front window leak and the panel was damp and already quite warped. Dealer hasn’t returned my phone calls. I called K-Z and they confirmed window order was placed and in stock, but 600 orders behind with no ETA for delivery and replacement.
Very disappointed in how this was all handled and that the dealer actually allowed us to bring this home as-is with broken window.
Are replacement windows and the repairs sufficient and take care of the leaking problem?

Connect 261rb,1 year , 2018 cirrus truck camper both with front windows many miles traveled no problems. I think maintaining prevents problems. Front windows are more than worth it. Love ours.

We took delivery of our 241RLK in December of 22. The trailer was built in November of 21. It sat on the dealers lot for a year, leaking. Got the trailer home and went to make up the bed and found black mold on the paneling and bed frame. Took it to the dealer in Janruary, took 2 months to get warranty approval, (dealer issue). The glass has been on order since March 26th. The dealer did put Collision Wrap over the window to seal it from the rain. We drove it to NY last week for our first outing. The wrap held up well. I told the dealer to call me when ALL the parts shows up, then we'll bring the trailer in for the repair. I ordered more collision wrap just in case what they put on fails. The wife was able to clean up and bleach the mold. So there's no fear of getting sick from that. I do put a dehumidifier in the trailer during the winter months to keep any moisture down so mold doesn't grow. Now we wait for parts, uggggg.

After our second replacement window started leaking we took it back to the dealership where they had windshield specialist work on it. They cut the sealant that was visible from the inside and ran a new bead. After waiting for the new sealant to set they water tested and found it still leaking. KZ factory rep was contacted and we learned the window vendor had recently been replaced with a different supplier. Normally a replacement is ordered from the vendor then shipped from KZ to Mississippi but in our case they pulled a new window off the assembly line. The window has been installed and leak tested but now we’re waiting on some other warranty parts to arrive. Hopefully the new window will not leak again after the two hour ride home.
Update: The camper has traveled over 1,000 miles and there are no signs of any leaks. We were told it has a different fastening system that doesn’t rely on the inner trim to pull the outside trim in order to seal. It also has a rubber piece on the outside that goes across the top and partially down the sides between the window and camper.

When my windshield was removed and replaced, the glass guys put rubber blocks on the bottom edge of the glass to help support it while the sealant cured. The service writer guy, said I could remove them. But I decided, that the rubber blocks are supporting the glass, so I left them in. That way, the weight of the glass isn't pulling on the sealant. Call me crazy, but it seems logical to me.
