Hi all with Escape Hatch's -- I am a member of a facebook group where 2 members have reported bent camper tongues -- not overweighted - one member just drove 3 hrs and found his trailer with a severe bend -- another member now has a trip on hold after looking at their camper and has a bend in their tongue as well--
The first member had a remote tech dispatched and had to have the tongue cut off and rewelded with a heavier guage boxsteel --
just a fYI for you to check

Sounds like a project for any weld shop to replace/reinforce a trailer tongue.

Sounds like a project for any weld shop to replace/reinforce a trailer tongue. Yes, not a big deal for an experienced fabricator. Darn near every "light weight" trailer has had (or will have) this issue. Apparently the designers have not learned how to calculate leverage.

I am having the same problem with my brand new hatch, the tongue is bent up and I don’t feel comfortable towing it. I have a call in to KZ Warranty but having a hard time getting any answers or help, do any of you have any suggestions?

Take it to a heavy truck & trailer repair facility and have the frame reinforced properly. If that costs too much, get rid of the trailer.

We’ve had the RV for 6 months. What is the FB group the person mentioned before? Thanks
