Love the layout and the features KZ offers . But I know with all new rv`s there are issues so just wondering if there are things we should watch out for . We will not be able to use it until May of this year . Looking forward to it . Thanks for any response that I may get

Congratulations on your new KZ purchase! We ordered our new 301RLT on Jan 30th, and we're keeping our fingers crossed that we'll even see ours by May.

Congratulations, there is an excellent PDI checklist on this site that you can go over with the dealer. Every coach has it's issues. Ours was a leak at the water heater other than that- pretty much nothing. Do a shakedown either in your driveway or somewhere close to practice setting up, ironing out any surprises & to find out what you forgot to load.

When you do the walk through check the TV's work, there have been issues with bad/loose cable ends. Doubt you will have cable TV but check the cable TV and if you use a satellite check it also. That was the only real problem I have had.

Love the trailer and the layout. The only real issues we’ve had are the tv cable as previously mentioned, and along the upper front cap/nose cone, on the curb side, there was about a 6-8 inch section that wasn’t sealed well. The stock mattresses are junk but everyone has differing solutions for those. Compared to previous campers we’ve owned, the overall quality seems pretty good. Anyway, congratulations on the new rig. Here’s to many great adventures ahead! Jay

Happy trails I think we've upgraded the mattress in every one we've ever owned too. We had just bought a really nice queen mattress for our previous 5th wheel, so I took the platform out of this one and cut it down to a queen, then replaced the mattress with our new one. Took care of two problems at once. Now we have a good mattress, plus we have lots more space around the bed in the bedroom. Jay

We also bought a brand new queen mattress for our TT , we kept the old one that came with it so I just switched them back for the trade in . I am planning on putting it in in the new FW doing just what you did . I haven’t looked at it yet its to cold right now we are in the Niagara Falls region on Canadian side . My concern is at the head of the bed, looks like the bed is touching the walls my thought was to have the base that width at the head and cut it down at the base . We too would much rather have the more room on the sides . Thanks again hope you have great travels

I had originally planned to build some narrow nightstand/shelves to fill the gap, but my wife and I actually liked it better open because it leaves enough room to easily make the bed. That was a problem in our previous trailer because the mattress fit so tightly in the slide that it was hard to get your hands in there to tuck the sheets in. The only change I had to make was to build a small platform down her side of the bed. Our new mattress is about 16" thick so it made the bed tall enough that my vertically challenged wife had trouble climbing in! Lol Jay
