Just curious if anyone knows, maybe this Covid thing has reduced output? Or maybe some parts suppliers have been having trouble? My dealer informed me delivery date of my new KZ is delayed a month & possibly two.

senior Talking with Kz directly a few times in the last month they stated that they are 90 days out on Factory warranty Repairs, so it's within reason that the production line has slowed down as well from people out of work from Covid an other sickness's like flu, colds etc ... Safe Travels Chuck

AZ Dealer has told me several times, they are behind on receiving ordered units - processing due to COVID and parts availability. Its's a mushroom effect....parts and components cannot be installed because of being back ordered, back ordered because they cannot be completed because another factory somewhere downstream cannot complete the mfg of the desired component, cannot be shipped, etc etc.

I say maybe you will see like the auto industry using robots to build trailers, but if you can't get parts the robots can't do their job either LOL ... I could see LCI using robots to weld their frames an Dexter to do axles but it's possibly the steel from outside the country is in short supply as well do to the Covid cud as well ... Just sitting here thinking about a RV assemble line with Robots, mind boggling

Between the increase in sales, and all of the disruption in the supply chains due to covid they are far behind. From wht I have heard appliances are few and far beween. The dealers inventory is extremely low on the lots also. There are a lot of shortages not just in the RV industry.

Yep, just think of it. Every like unit made JUST LIKE THE ONE BEFORE AND AFTER IT! Wire looms and wire trays. Common plumbing! Proper welds on the frames! Plants could run 24/7, if necessary. Any bets on how much =less= a rig would cost? Lyle

Any bets on how much =less= a rig would cost? Lyle The KZ factory is running at full speed, they are manufacturing trailers as fast as the supply chain will let them. When I was at the factor in October there were hundreds of semi completed trailers waiting for various parts (mostly windows). KZ uses mostly an all Amish work force their work day is 4am thru noon, then its back to the farm. Also the work force in the Shipshewana, Elkhart area, where the trailers and a lot of their components are made is tapped out. There are plenty of jobs to be had, but no one to fill them. I guarantee with your robotic scenario, the cost of manufacturing would not go down and the quality would not be substantially increased.

We ordered our Connect back in October because we were concerned that the plant would be running slow. When we ordered it, the dealer told us it could take up to 6 months to get it, which would put us at an April delivery, so we thought "Perfect!"
I just got a call from the dealer this week saying that it is scheduled to ship out on Monday! I guess better early than late. I asked the dealer to hold on to it until the weather gets nicer so we can do our PDI and walk-through when we don't have to worry about draining all the lines again.
Let's see if it actually ships when they say it will...

Well we gave up on getting a 2021 kz sportsman 261 rlle.Waited 5 months and they tell me it might be middle to end of July. They keep pushing it back. Supplier shortage. So I started looking around and found(streak of luck) a 2020 261 RLLE. Same trailer same floor plan. We have to drive 7 hrs to get it from Camping World but................its worth it. Only used a few times then they decided to go fifth wheel. HAPPY CAMPING!!!!!

Well I told dealer to repair my Durango G384RLT in Late Feb., they said they would order parts, I received a call in lat May that parts were in but they couldn't work on trailer till July 1st an it will take three weeks to replace all three slide out floors ... So it took 4 months to get parts in to replace slide floors an another two an half months to get it into dealer, talking with factory they stated in Feb. they could not even look at trailer till 1st part of August but left it open if I could even take it back there thus the dealers is doing work ... They did offer to sell me parts are a discount an cut out the dealer but I had no idea what parts was needed nor to replace the slide floors... I would say that the dealer more than likely would buy the slide floors locally because it 5/8inch plywood I believe ... Safe Travels Chuck
