Any suggestion on Purchasing an RV mattress size 54X80? What are the most comfortable and durable. Thanks!

Sounds like you have a variation of a queen. RV mattresses tend to be non standard, but their availability has gotten better. Some on this site have gone with bed in a box as well as different inflatable types. They will be chiming in. We ended up going to a local mattress builder and had one made to our liking and to fit, as we have a narrow king.

I put in a Tempurpedic queen after cutting the platform from King size. It was a chore to get it in and up the stairs but we did it.

I did the same as Edd, cut my king platform down to a queen (60x80) then added a good quality mattress. It IS a real bear to get up the steps into the bedroom just as he said. If space permits, you could easily remove your existing platform and build one to fit a 60x80 queen mattress, or if you don’t mind a little overhang on the sides you could just put a standard sized queen mattress on your existing platform. You also will likely need to upgrade your lift struts underneath as the stock mattresses tend to be really lightweight. Hope this helps.
