Just bought our first travel trailer and loving it! looking for recommendations on Furrion camera ( Mount is there but no camera ), also furrion solar panels. Most importantly not sure what generator invertor to get 30A.

Most importantly not sure what generator invertor to get 30A. You should go to the Furrion website to compare the various camera systems. The Furrion solar panels are costly, I think you could do much better with many other brands, there may be some solar gurus on here that are up to date with that. To get 30A you would need 3600 watts of continuous power, you only need 3000 watts to power your system if you are conservative. The air conditioner is the big draw, without it you can get by with 2000 watts. What I use is two Honda 2000 watt generators and pair them if I need air conditioning. The advantage to using two small ones is the lighter weight of each, and the ability to use only what I need.

Welcome, I second what Lynnmor said, especially the gen info, I use the Hondas as well, easy to lift and carry around.

Champions are just as good and 25-30% less costly than Hondas. They also make a dual fuel (gas and propane) if that interests you. They =also= have a higher continuous output than Honda. Another alternative is the Predator generator from Harbor Freight. They get excellent ratings and are cheaper yet. 2 biggest downsides to the Champion and Predator are that they're a bit louder and have smaller tanks so won't run as long. Note, I'm talking the 3-3.5k class machines. My choice is Champion and I have a 2k that I was gifted. Most any 3k generator will run a 13.5k A/C but nothing else. Also helps to have a soft start capacitor on it.
As far as solar goes, I agree that there are likely much cheaper alternatives for panels. Not sure if your rig is "solar prepped" but, if not, make sure you use heavy gauge wiring and a good MPPT charge controller. Those 2 things will greatly improve the charge efficiency of any panels you put on. Don't discount finding used panels, either. I know there's a shop here in Gilbert AZ that specializes in used solar equipment. I'm not to that stage yet, but am wanting to go there soon.

Runs a single A/C or any thing else, stays chained to the rack and my 25ft 30amp cord reaches so weights not an issue. DW make a vinyl cover to keep it out of the weather & out of sight.

I was looking at this also -- but went with the model lower e201BH For the solar - I had a100watt panel with 8 amp controller from my Pop Up, just got this plug - - www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VCJHCRM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 -- From Amazon, It will adapt to most panel / controllers out there Haven't used it on the road yet -- but in my drivway, put it under camp conditions, Lights, TV, Radio, Fridge on Propane, Furnace, overnights - and with panel out in the morning -- charged up batteries by night time use another addition I would suggest, but in a battery disconnect switch Alex

That thing is gonna be LOUD! The quite generator of any brand will be an inverter gen, this is a 3100I, right lower corner. The open frame like yours are work generators or camping with no one around. Look at the Db level on your and compare with any inverter, you'll see the differance. Nephew made the same mistake, fired it once and sold it for an inverter, he hunts and the open frame would have scare game for miles.

As for the backup camera, I bought the Furrion Vision S 4.3 and loved it. Decided this year I wanted the side cameras and learned I needed to upgrade whole system to either a 5" monitor or 7" monitor. With the difference only 100$, I went with 7". We like it alot. Especially that the backup camera had a mic and speaker so you can hear any instructions from your significant other.

Thanks for the camera advice! Yeah I jumped on the generator price only because it said having it at 20ft from RV was good… Ha!

New around here and jumping on an old thread. We just bought a 2022 E231BH as a family of four after a couple of summers of renting Class C motorhomes to cross Ontario and using the in-laws' trailer over the years. Curious to hear experiences with the same/similar trailers and for any recommended/must have accessories.

I drove a big rig for years and have had campers since early 80's. You have a wife or older kids, way better than a camera, have them get out and help you back. Large hand signals, two way radios, phones any way to communicate which way you need to go. Using hand signals they have to be able to see you in your mirror or you won't see the signal. Happy camping in your new RV.
