Just purchased a 2020 KZ Durango half ton D263RTL, hav'nt used it yet. Going over all the systems making sure all works properly. I need help locating the 12 volt water pump just so I'll know where it is located. Also has anyone installed a hard wired surge protector and was it difficult to do. Thanks Jay

Hi, welcome. I'm not sure where your water pump is, but can you turn it on and follow the sound? Mine is behind the water panel, in the back of the storage compartment.

As for the surge protector, I found a PI EMS 50a locally for a great price, so just picked it up. I know a hard-wired unit would be nice, but this was cheaper, and easier. Lyle

I use an external surge protector, just plug into the pedestal & RV into that.

Yep, turn the pump on and follow the hum. I installed a hardwired EMS because I tend to forget things.

As OP stated turn on the water an listen for the pump,
Like Edd505 an a few others I installed an internal PI EMS 50awith monitor, this is my second one, the other was a PI EMS 30a in our old 5th wheel an the Class C before that ...

We are looking at an external serge protector. Someone said the cheaper ones only protect for one serge then have to be replaced. What is considered cheap and how would I know which ones are only one use?

Anything under $250 is considered cheap, most surge protectors worth anything will run well over $300

What is considered cheap and how would I know which ones are only one use? As I stated above, I use the Progressive Industries 50a portable rig. Happened to find a used one locally for a decent price. New, they're upwards of $400, but "street price" is usually a bit cheaper. I'd =prefer= the hardwired one, but this was popped up on Craigs List, so I jumped on it. Lyle
