Been a lean year camping with the virus thing and life in general, finally out for a few weeks. Guess travel this year is going to be more like weekenders, close to home. About 25 sites here 4 occupied, fills Friday night and empties Sunday.

We are mostly weekend campers but we always stay through Sunday night and leave Monday by checkout time. We have noticed that most if not all the sites are filled Friday night till Sunday. We see a lot of brand new campers,I guess everybody needs to get out of the house eventually?

We see a lot of brand new campers,I guess everybody needs to get out of the house eventually? Some neighbors just bought a brand new Thor Gemini (Class B+ on a Benz Sprinter chassis). Was one of only 2 in AZ that was still available and discount was minor. Lots are sparse, with all new units up by the road/street and back areas bare. Discounts minimal. Only junk on the used market, and even some of that is selling, from what I'm seeing around here (PHX area). We're heading up near Flagstaff for our annual family boondocker and I'm hoping our usual spot isn't taken. Don't know what we'll do if that happens. Lyle

Son has been looking at used 5W's and most were fugitives from wrecking yards. He purchased one 31-33ft? a few days ago that I'll move for him tomorrow, 96 Park Avenue Electra. (RV of the car) In pictures looks like a pristine one owner, stored in side, used weekends to go to the lake 2-3 miles. Says the stainless steal still has the blue tape in places. Not a KZ but built by Thor with aluminum frame, I'll do a couple pics after I see it.

Hell, there's an outfit called Flyte Camp that does frame up restos and some of their more rare units have sold into the high-5 / low-6-figure range. Admittedly, you're buying both a virtually new camper, but you're also buying rarity, and I'm talking 4,5,6 known to exist type stuff. Here's their portfolio of previous restorations: www.flytecamp.com/vintage-restoration. Some of the 60's stuff are just way cool! Lyle

Lyle I was only home long enough to move this for him & do a basic walk through. Looks great, he has it hooked up at my place and said everything works, he has found nothing that needs repaired. Thought he had a water leak and found the fresh water drain not fully closed. I'll get pictures as soon as I get home for more than a couple hours.

Lyle The Flyte Camp folks did a display at the vintage RV portion of Hot August Nights last year. They had one of their recreated vintage coaches on display. Looked old school, but had all the modern features. Their attention to detail was impressive. it actually looked better finished than a new Airstream that was also on display.

Lyle Found a tag built by Thor, biggest hydraulic motor I have seen for front landing & slide, new tires, two new batteries, and good largest single awning (3 support arms) 33ft 12K GYW. 1996 Park Avenue Electra rear kitchen with blue tape still on the stainless at the sink, ducted air, day night shades. Full hookup at the house, one tear in the slide seal nothing else found that needs repair, roofs good & no water stains found. Dated interior colors but I'm sure mom will help change some of it. Looks like the RK floor plan runs in the family, I have my 2nd.

Wow! That looks like one helluva find. Was it stored inside? Blue plastic still on the sink? Was it even used at all?!
Yuck on the decor, though. Like you said, Mama can help with that. :-)

Like you said, Mama can help with that. :-) Lyle Yes it was stored inside about 2 miles to the nearest state park. It's lightly used, I suspect it was pulled from Santa Fe where a sticker says it was purchased to the area and has lived here since, maybe 250 miles plus trips to the lake. (dealers gone) I didn't meet the prior owner or I would have asked. Found a couple plumbing vet caps brittle and replaced them, seal gets repaired in the AM. Found a few seams we will Dicor just to make sure they are sealed, look to have some small cracking.
Biggest find so far is they water lines are reversed in the kitchen, may have replaced the faucet.

Looks good, yeah, what a find. It's interesting to see how colors have changed. Colors? =Style=, more like. :-) I know my '04 Komfort was pretty dated when we sold it, but at least it was more earth tones; muted greens, with hints of yellow and orange with a beige background. I've said for a long time that, IMO, the interior colors and patterns were designed by old hippies from the '60's having acid flashbacks. :-) Lyle
