The stove propane line came in the middle of shelf !! And used all kind of space in there !! Finally took the time to reroute it out of the way. Edit !!!!! Edit !!! Disclaimer I'm not a propane tech or hvac dude. I'm just a random dude on the net. Do not do this.

Not just KZ, all of them do things like this. Nice job relocating it. Not only frees up space, but protects it.

Surprised it was so long, they want to save $$ and excess length costs extra. They cut corners ever where they can.

Decided to move the shelf higher to gain access underneath. Had to move the sink 1/4" hehe. I found the caulking job was bad and the countertop started to swollen. Gain 4 cubic feet !!

Only the top surface is waterproof, when the hole is cut the raw edge will absorb water like a sponge. Apply varnish to the raw edge and below so that any leak in the caulking won’t destroy the countertop. BTDT Don’t expect the caulking to remain waterproof because of the thin materials flexing, especially going down the road.

What a great idea!! I can still get to the ruff edge from underneath. They applied something on it, almost looks like they just used a black marker... Cuz it did swell a bit already.
Do you have a product to recommend ? Or I go to the hardware store and ask for varnish it's one product ?
Thanks for your time eh!! I appreciate very much.

Any varnish or polyurethane will work fine. If you have any woodwork that needs touched up, then get flat, satin or gloss as appropriate so that you can make additional use of the product. Here is just one example: link Need more work? I coat the raw wood inside of drawers with one coat of shellac to make them easier to clean. link

Not sure why they did that, it doesn’t seem to have any waterproofing properties. I hope you can get the varnish to cover completely, I would pull the sink and do it right.
