Thanks a lot Edd! I was getting antsy to go camping before, but now i'm really feeling the bug, but have to stay hunkered down due to DW's COPD Wife & I are both in the high risk group. If you do go call ahead as many state parks are closed and many RV parks have limited anyone new entering.

I need to check into this before the summer and the trip to Indiana. However, I paid 1.89 for diesel (credit) with no special discount. That's pretty good, not as good as what you did, but pretty good. I have to drive about 20-25 minutes to a truck stop so I just fill up by the house.

I did check it out on their website about a month ago, but the fact that they require a social security number and bank information is enough to make me not be interested. The less places those numbers are nowadays, the better off I am.

I'm with you on that one.
need one for a bank account, debit card, credit card, it's a debit linked to your bank just like PayPal, Amazon etc. No 3rd and 4th party person/company needs to have my social security number. Paypal and Amazon do not have that info either, it's bad enough that my bank has it. I am surprised that you being ex law enforcement aren't wary of that. All my credit and debit cards that are linked to Paypal and Amazon also have a specific spending limit attached to them ($250.00 max) so my finances can't be wiped out or blindsided with unapproved purchases. Laurie and I have been down this road already with fraudulent use of a credit card that was scanned by a passerby at a truck stop. In retrospect I can tell you exactly when and where it happened and who did it. That person nailed us for $1700.00 before we were alerted by the cc company. We don't need to make it any easier to have personal info out there. We are slowly headed towards a cashless society but here is something to think about HERE'S WHAT NO CASH ACTUALLY MEANS: A cashless society means no cash. Zero. It doesn’t mean mostly cashless and you can still use a ‘wee bit of cash here & there’. Cashless means fully digital, fully traceable, fully controlled. I think those who support a cashless society aren’t fully aware of what they are asking for. ➪If you are struggling with your mortgage on a particular month, you can’t do an odd job to get you through. ➪Your child can’t go & help the local farmer to earn a bit of summer cash. ➪No more cash slipped into the hands of a child as a good luck charm or from their grandparent when going on vacation. ➪No more money in birthday cards. ➪No more piggy banks for your child to collect pocket money & to learn about the value of earning. ➪No more cash for a rainy day fund or for that something special you have been putting $ away for. ➪No more charity collections. ➪No more selling bits & pieces from your home that you no longer want/need for a bit of cash in return. ➪No more cash gifts from relatives or loved ones. What a cashless society does guarantee: 🔜Banks have full control of every single penny you own. 🔜Every transaction you make is recorded. 🔜All your movements & actions are traceable. 🔜Access to your money can be blocked at the click of a button when/if banks need ‘clarification’ from you which will take about 3 weeks, a thousand questions answered & five thousand passwords. 🔜You will have no choice but to declare & be taxed on every penny in your possession. 🔜The government WILL decide what you can & cannot purchase. 🔜If your transactions are deemed in any way questionable, by those who create the questions, your money will be frozen, ‘for your own good’. Please open your eyes. Please stop believing everything you are being told. Almost every single topic in today’s world is tainted with corruption & hidden agendas. Please stop telling me & others like me that we are what’s wrong with the world when you hail the most corrupt members of society as your heroes. Politics & greed are what is wrong with the world; not those who are trying to alert you to the reality in which you are blindly floating along whilst being immobilized by irrational fear. Fear created to keep you doing & believing in exactly what you are complacently doing. Copied from a friend

We don't need to make it any easier to have personal info out there. We are slowly headed towards a cashless society but here is something to think about Fortunately our small town bank watches pretty close. Been out of state once & in Albuquerque once buying fuel, out of state "you didn't tell us" & Albq :"there is too much fraud there right now." I have them on speed dial and it's fixed while I'm on the phone just like any purchase over the daily amount, a phone call to tell them who/where and about how much and it's give us a few minutes. When traveling they want to know where and about what dates so they can watch for "unusual activity", maybe a charge local when the know we are gone. Lucky we have never had an issue, wife got a call couple years back someone tried to open a Wells Fargo account in her name. Wells Fargo called as something in the application triggered an alert on their end, then 2 more applications came in. (think that was an ex girl friend of our son) Our accounts are marked with fraud alert after that so any credit trying to be obtained requires added inquiry. Our main accounts been active since before we married, a long long time ago and we keep two banks for just in case.

It could be that they consider this a "credit application" and that's why they want your SSN. At one time, businesses were required to give you an alternative number to use instead of your SSN. Not sure if that's still the case, or not. IMO, if they have your debit/credit card, that should be enough for them.

Hey, y'all. I thought to myself, "what the hell", and dropped an email this AM to TSD asking about the SSN requirement and if they would provide an alternate number to use. I got an email back from no less than the CFO, saying that they are rolling out a new payment platform in about 2 weeks, that will no longer require your SSN to apply. The reply came back about an hour after I send the message.

SSI is tied to many many things, bank account, house, rentals, medical until they changed to the new coded Medicare, back when we had a service numbers now military uses SSI. I don't track what I save but this is pretty typical, think the lowest I've paid was $1.62 this came to $1.92 a gallon.

We have Bank of America, have to tell them what states we are going to anything different the cards we have do not work, as well limit on all cards, forgot last year to call them an when fueling in Wyoming the cars got rejected Ugh !!! Called bank an the fixed things ASAP ... As well didn't know that Fying -J puts a $500 charge/hold on a card the minute you turn pump on unless you go to fuel desk, then deducts what ever you use for fuel an put rest back, real scary the 1st time I saw this happen ... As well some Flying J's want to take you card an hold it while you fuel, I always check my card after fueling to make sure no extra is added Ugh !!! Fuel the other day at the Indians wa $2.35 9 but has jumped to $2.75 9 yesterday, don't know why, barrel of Oil is still running about the same only up a down a few cents ... Safe Travels Chuck
