This seems to be the constant theme; the actual company is OK but dealers not so much. In my short time of involvment with an RV (K-Z Spree) I have found exactly that. When I have a problem, the dealership goes into an impressive song and dance routine in order to avoid doing anything but contacting the manufacturer has been a satisfying experience. When my awning and outdoor lights quit working, an e-mail to the dealer got me a response wherein they told me I could drop the trailer off so they could assess the problem and determine a course of action. When I said there was no assessment required, I knew what was wrong and a new control module was required, they said they had their protocol. A call to Lippert and I had a new control module shipped to me, free of charge, and was told that I could, if necessary, take the unit to a dealership and they would pay for labor costs. Night and day. While I am not real pleased with the build quality overall, I am pleased with the manufacturer's willingness to make things right. GD

We are beginning to think our dealer is not so good. Sales end of things were fine but now going on 7 weeks since we dropped it off and no end in sight for finishing the minor repairs that needed to be done to a new 5th wheel.

This seems to be a common situation no matter the brand. Can't speak to the others but I have had really good response from KZ getting things fixed by out side RV repairman.

Edd I have to agree, Kz told me I could take my trailer to any RV repair shop of my choosing to get my slide topper replaced an the other repairs done ... My RV reapir shop would have done such but the problem was that the screw holes had to be
patched on the side of the slide an then the upper part of slide repainted .... My RV repair shop stated they could put the
slide topper on but the body work was not what they did an recommended I take it to the dealer ...
But the fact remains that KZ stepped up to the plate an was willing to let someone outside their dealers do repairs an that's what's important, they are not the big bad wolf as some people paint them
Safe travels

we have now pulled our K-Z 251 RKS Spree about 11,000 miles and, I must say, I am beyond disappointed in the quality and performance of the basic trailer. Most of the accesssories have worked out just fine but the trailer is p-poor. Buckling panels, cupboards falling apart, bed falling down; these are the major complaints. The bed turns out to be suspended (via staples) from a pair of 3/4 inch square sticks which are,in turn, stapled to the paneling which forms the sides of the closets. That is, it used to be suspended this way until the staples pulled out. I had to build bracing under the head of the bed platform to prop it up for the duration of the trip. One tire wore out. The axles are, in my opinion, just too light for the trailer. I am a little disappointed to learn that I paid thirty grand for a trailer kit and can look forward to working on it in the years to come. GD

We've had our Durango 1500 295 for going on 4 years, have pulled it over 10,000 miles (probably way more)and so far everything is staying put, yes, I've had to reanchor the pull out sofa,(which like all is uncomfortable as heck to sleep on) and had some window opener issues that I fixed. the one major problem of a poorly attached slide motor was addressed by our dealer in an emergency immediately and replaced when we returned home. I will know more about the quality/durability in August when we return from our Alaska trip. We did upgrade form 'D' tires to 'E', and I am beefing the suspension before we go to Alaska, as that seems to be one of Alcan travelers' big concerns. We originally bought it because the DW finally found Kitchen, drawers, outlets laid out like we thought they should be, and I could get it in my building, since then we have become a lot more knowledgeable about RV issues from this and other forums, still glad we got our Durango, maybe we were just lucky!

My background is tent camping, however I spent 2 years researching a 5th wheel. I had specific requirements to meet for a variety of reasons. Suffice to say KZ Sportsmen 231RK was the best option and exceeded my requirements. I picked the unit up last August (2018) and only found one "defect". The overhead A/C vent in the living area still had the piece of 1/4" plywood stuck in the hole. It didn't come out with the hole saw and remained in the opening. I pointed it out to the gentlemen doing the final walk through and within 5 minutes he had it fixed. Fast forward to January 2019 and I get notified of a recall on the awning controller. It's a 15 minute fix, but a 3 hour drive each way. The dealer contacted me, we made arrangements for service on a Saturday early morning. Took an 1 1/2hrs. The awning had to be extended manually, the controller failed completely. While they were fixing it the senior technician discovered lose wires on the controller switch. He fixed those too. They also discovered 3 of my 4 vents/skylights had cracks on the inner liners/covers. Unfortunately they didn't have replacements in stock. However they have them now and we have made arrangements to have those replaced, also under warranty.
There are 3 RV dealers closer to me, however none of them service or sell KZ products. So I bought my unit from a dealer in O'Fallon Missouri and drive 3 hours each way. I don't know if mentioning dealer names is appropriate in this forum, so I have left the name out.
Overall, my experience with both KZ customer service and me dealer have been good experiences. I spoke to a CS rep from KZ before I bought the unit. I had all sorts of questions and he answered them to my satisfaction. During my research, I didn't find a lot of information about KZ Sportsmen 5th wheel products, positive or negative. In this electronic world, no negative comments is a huge bonus. Seems like everybody and their brother wants to get on-line to vent frustration, but only a few post up good things. I prefer to post the latter.
So far, I have only had one other issue, and that related to my antenna, well actually the tv was connected to the wrong port and wasn't receiving signal from the antenna. Worked great at home, but I didn't get any TV stations away from home. I figured it out while camping the night before the warranty work. Once I swapped ports, I picked up 38 local channels in the St. Louis area.
To date: I have spent 8 weekends (camping/fishing/boating with grandkids) and a 10 day Mid November fishing/hunting trip with family and friends in the camper. We love it so far.
