Chuck you have experienced the exact issue that caused me to ask the forum. After reading all the posts it sounds like most did too and removing the shipping screws and pulling the couch away from the wall a little is the answer to experience that nap quality reclining. Just remember to push it back to the original position before moving the slide in for travel, and sounds like there is not much movement during travel to the point it doesn't have to be anchored down again. Which also eliminated the need for holding one's tongue in the right position and using offensive language. Enjoy!! Bobcat

Bobcat I have to tell you that when we had our Great Dane he would hide behind the theater seating when he heard thunder or any very loud noise's Ugh !!! I never thought about taking the screws out an sliding them out, so you an other have giving me the idea of test driving them without the screws in an see what happens I will put the screws back in so if I need to reuse them I can find them LOL

My doxies love to hide behind there too, I can only imagine a dane back there! They also like to lay on the back and look out the window which when they are moved will be a little tough for them since they use the wall and window to balance. I can see a few nose dives in the the near future! Let me know how the test drive goes.

Good to know Edd505, I’m feeling more confident to just remove and not worry about lots of movement. As for the center piece, how did you remove that part? Didn’t look like it would come apart on mine, but I could be completely wrong. Appreciate your input on that one. Bobcat The three pieces are screwed to the board that was screwed to the floor. I unbolted all three and left the center out. I pushed the 2 ends together and cut the board to length a remounted the the ends. When I get home the couch is coming out and a second set of theater seats are going in. No over night stays unless they want t sleep in the chairs.

Ok Edd I can't take the center peace out unless I replace it with a flat wood divider thus Hildi can put her sewing stuff on such as she is doing now with the divider, you about that sewing don't you . Thus this is why I want to build a small desk or table coming out from the seating so I can at least set my coffee cup on it ... Of course since Patron are great Dane is gone now I could reclaim the couch
an use the small flat suffuse on either end of the couch in the morning for my coffee ...
Bobcat our Dane was 165pds an on his hind legs could look over a wooden 6ft fence we had an
didn't need to jump up to see what was on our counters, he just walked up a looked straight at what was ever on the counter ... He was one of the biggest Dane I have seen an many people stated the same thing... If I had a dollar for every time someone would say "you got a saddle
for that Dog" I be a rich LOL ... So when camping or at home the couch was his, an if he wanted to look out the window laying on the couch all he would did is left his head an look over the back of such ...
Also Edd we have grandkids that like to camp with us or should I say Hildi likes the grandkids to camp with us from time to time ... The girl is only 10 so she thinks it's a hoot, the Boy 18 sort of likes it if there are girls around (You remember that don't you), he is 6'5 an wheres a 15 in a shoe so the couch when unfolded into the bed is just a bit short for him ... We also have to haul extra food an fill the frig ever other day it seems for him Ugh
Bobcat I didn't know the couch reclined only the theater seating, will have to try that an see...
Right now I am trying to get it ready for daughter to come from Delaware with her new boyfriend ...
Thus I get to give him the talk "your better not hurt the daughter " talk LOL ... Shes 35 so she
will chew me out once shes hears that I have done such, but then say thanks dad, I know you care even thought you are my evil step dad while she is laughing
Safe travels

Chuck Good luck with the daughter! As for the couch term I was referring to the theater seats sorry for confusion, but some couches do recline so you may find a hidden treasure! I know all about Danes as worked for a vet in college. I’m just over 5ft so the Danes and I would see eye to eye. Heck my lil guys take over anything that looks comfortable so doesn’t matter the size, we just love our four legged kids. good luck and hope you don’t get too wet.... Bobcat

Well blues sky this morning for a bit Yaaaaaaaaa but the rain is coming back this afternoon or evening so they say
We still have a small female dog an she would ran the Dane, she is a Catahoula which is the state dog of Louisiana ....
She would show her teeth an that Dane would back off, so if she was on the couch she would lay in the middle sometimes to torch him off, she was an can be a little bitch at times .... She gets along with most dogs in the dog runs at camp grounds
even thought we check to make sure with other owners before letting her loose with them

Very familiar with the catahoulas and I think just being female makes them want to be the leader. Lol. I have a mini dox who is all of 9 pounds, but she will bully any and all to get her way! It’s funny to watch at times.
Enjoy the the blue skies while it lasts.

If a person isn’t small enough to sleep on a small couch, they need a hotel room😉. Our grandkids are OK, their parents not so much😂😂😂

Chuck, I always made sure that the boyfriends knew I carried, always. I'd also casually mention that I can have a temper and might forget about my hogleg and use what G-d gave me...very dirty and painfully. :-)

Lyle I use to have a double barrel shot gun I called Bob, I would require the daughter when younger to bring in her date or latest new boyfriend when they were going out .... I would tell the date or latest boyfriend that the daughter was do home an in the house by 11pm otherwise Bob an I would come looking for her an him ...
One even she was late, they pulled into the driveway about 10 after 11, I came out the door with Bob as a joke, guess the new boyfriend didn't think so ... The car door opened up an daughter come out of the car sideways an the car left the driveway with car door still open an down the road he went LOL ... Never did see that young man or his car ever again (Snicker) .... Daughter didn't think it was funny either, she went off the deep end an said many bad words that I didn't know she new LOL, but I can tell you she was never late again in fact most times early
I never fired Bob, Bob was very old Ajacks an had hammers for firing on each side, I believe if I had ever fired that gun it
would have hurt me more than what it was pointed at LOL ... Latter on after the daughter left home she would tell me she
hated me for always doing that to new boyfriends but loves me for setting rules an teacher her to be on time an caring for
her more than her own father even thought I was her step dad
Bob now belongs to my son an is hanging on his wall, he reminds me about the history of bob an laugh's an states he was glad that he never was late because he had learned the lesson form his step sister really well

Sorry no, I have the same issue with the dogs. I only found covers for a full couch (minus the cup holder and arm rest) and for the swivel rocker chairs. I ended up getting a bunch of dark brown towels from a big box store and using them. I folded them in half and tuck in the seats and lay one across the back of the couch. Not convenient as I have to put them back in place all the time but they work. Not sure about cats especially if they have their front claws. If anyone finds one that fits the theater seats let me know! If I had the time I might try and sew one. Bobcat

Hah! I know some kids who were doing a girl a solid favor by bringing her home after she got drunk and passed out (NO, good Mormon girls just don't DO that! Yeah, right... :-) ) Anyway, they brought the girl into the house at whatever time, got her on the couch and dad starts yelling. Kids high-tail it out of there and the dad =does= light off a couple 12 ga rounds at the boy's truck. Hits it, too. Boy's dad shows up the next day to give the girl's dad an opportunity to explain things. Now Bob (boy's dad) was a Bird Col. in the USAF, Phantom driver, about 6' tall and 240; ex lineman. So girl's dad pays the repair bill on the truck without question. :-) Which included detailing the interior where she puked. Lyle

Like chuck I put a blanket or towel on the couch or theater seats for my furry friend. The theater seat sets just even with the rug on the slide. I moved it today and the seats have indented the carpet so it "cups" the seats where the rug is compressed. The couch is now in my shop & a second set of seats has been put in.

When we had the original couch we tried every cover we could find. Nothing fit, so we just resorted to throws & towels.
