Ok folks here goes:
My 311TH10 came with the prewiring for the Furrion backup camera and/or observation system. It's supposed to be "plug and play". Yet, all I get is a blank screen on the monitor in the truck. If I plug the camera into the power cord with the monitor, she works like a charm. So why doesn't she work on the system that was supposed to be "wired already" from KZ? Here's what I know:
- The camera is paired with the monitor and it works. So long as it is plugged into it's pairing jack in line with the monitor, it works as advertised. - There is no power going to the mounting bracket it KZ's "re-wired" system. ZERO, This thing "should" work when the running lights are on. I checked all systems with lights on and everything works as it should except this camera.
My guess is either it's not hooked up in the J-Box where the trailer wiring connects to the 7-Way for the truck OR the hot wire that would keep everything hot when the truck is hooked up is not working.
Has anyone else had this issue?
I'd really hate to cut into the wiring if I am missing something stupid like an inline fuse.

Before you cut into the wiring go to Home depot or Lowes and buy you a tick tracer/cat and mouse/ wire tracker. Should come with 2 components, one will connect to the wire the is supposed to be hot at the camera mount and the other will be used to try to find to pulse the first generates. Easiest way to locate wires. If you know and electrician they would most likely have one you might be able to borrow.

Try connecting the truck to the camper using the pigtail, and turn your running lights on in the truck. Your camera power may be tied into that circuit.

Try connecting the truck to the camper using the pigtail, and turn your running lights on in the truck. Your camera power may be tied into that circuit. Yup, I tried that. I tried through both of my 7 way connectors (in the bed and the one in the bumper). At this point, I can just about confirm that it is not the truck, so I'm going to take the panel off behind the camera inside the camper and see where the wires were spliced in and see if I can trace it that way. I have a yellow wire that is capped that comes out of the pigtail heading into the trailer inside the jbox under my kingpin. I'm thinking that wire might be the dedicated circut for the camera and the guys at the factory never wired it up.

The yellow wire in your 7 way connector is for the backup light circuit, it is only powered when in reverse.

The yellow wire in your 7 way connector is for the backup light circuit, it is only powered when in reverse. I tried that too (putting the truck in reverse to see if the camera works). Since I don't have backup lights on the camper, that would make sense though.

I had the same problem, The wire was not attached to the running light where the camera gets power.

I had the same problem, The wire was not attached to the running light where the camera gets power. BINGO!!!! That's what I think it is. I think it's wired, just not connected on the lights. I'm going to check that out this weekend and see if that is the culprit.

It's an easy fix. There's plenty of room to work once you remove the camera mounting bracket.

I tried that. My wires are hooked on or up to something, I just don't know what. I didn't want to go yanking, so I'm just going to pull the panel from the inside that will expose the back side of the camera and the running lights and see how it's wired. I'm thinking that should answer the question (I sure hope).

Installed one on my 2018 Connect 241RLK, works fine as long as I turn the truck lights on.

My Venom came with the factory installed camera. The camera only works when the running lights are powered up.
The monitor did not receive signal from camera very well with the rubber short antennas. I think the distance from the camera to monitor is to far. Most of the time it did not work at all. Monitor would say "no signal" even though I know the camera and monitor were linked.
I installed a base mount antenna on a bracket off the ladder and the signal is better but still very intermittent.

Found out what it was. They spliced the wires 1/2 assed with quick splices. I took it apart and did it right. Camera works like a charm now. Whoever did the wiring at KZ didn't know what they were doing.

That's what it was. It was where the camera was spliced into the running lights. The splice was too big for the camera wires. So I cut the running light wires, twisted the camera wires int them, then butt connected and shirnk wrapped. Done deal. Sad part is, you could tell they didn't check to ensure they had done it correctly. The wires were still sheathed.

I had a similar problem with my 270thle. The fresh water indicator was not working. It appeared that all the wires were connected, and I even used a tone generator to check the wires. Good tone all the way through. Since we don't use the fresh water tank except for sanitizing the system, I waited until I could get it to the dealer.. They found a bad splice connector at the tank. The wires were crimped in the connector, but the one leading to the monitor panel was not stripped before they crimped it. The tech checked the obvious stuff before ripping into the wires going to the panel. that would have meant cutting the under body covering and possibly pulling the wall loose.

I had the exact same problem on my Venom. Fixed it the same way you did. Removed the scotch locks and replaced with butt connections.
