This park was recommended by friends but the reviews on rvparkreviews said the Argentine ants are really bad and even though they put out poison and bait, the ants swarmed into the trailer.
I don't want to bring those things home with me. If we went there, is there a way to keep the ants out of the trailer? If the ants are that bad, wouldn't it run off the tent campers? I saw a lot of pictures of people sitting around in front of tents and trailers.

Not quite sure what Argentine ants are but here is my assessment. There are some people that just shouldn't camp, they would complain about anything. Bugs are a way of life while camping and while I wouldn't want to pitch a tent right under a wasp nest they are part of nature.
We winter in Florida and the have several types of ants but the most common are sugar ants and fire ants. Sugar ants are these microscopic pita and when it is dry they seek water and there is no way to keep them out of your trailer, I have tried. I have seen fire ants but have never had to tangle with them they pretty much are home bodies and don't venture far from their mound. If you mess with then though they bite and the bite really burns like you are on fire!

Coming from South Texas a number of years back we had fire ants by the truck load an they may be calling these Argentine ants not knowing what they are ... As jetzen stated do not tangle with fire ant's, they will invite there entire ant family, their ant neighbors an a few hundred more in a matter of minutes to light you up. Saying the above you can always tell where fire ants are by their mounds in most case's ... Also as jetzen stated some people will over state what is really not a problem, etc 10 or 12 ant's in a trailer may be stated as hundreds. If you read one or two posts about ant's I wouldn't worry, if you read dozen's about the camp ground then it's time to look else where, unless your brave an what to check it out for yourself. We took a Sunday afternoon drive a couple of weeks ago to visit the campground. The camp host said they are not as bad this time of year, but campers do have to spray. She said that Argentine ants are little black ants like sugar ants but they nest in trees, not in the ground like fire ants.
