From the factory your trailer would most likely have had Carefree. Mine has the Carefree slide toppers and are color matched to the main awnings. If that is not a concern I would most likely go for price

Like jetzen we have the Carefree slide toppers, also had them on our old 5th wheel, never had a problem with them for a number of years....

I have a 2020 Durango Gold 356RLT, the dealer was able to put slide toppers on two of my three slides. He told me he could not put a slide topper on the Dining area/Recliners slide, because there is an awning attached to that slide, and its in the way of attaching the slide topper. I can't believe that KZ would design it so you could not put on a slide topper on that slide, or did they?

Mr Gadget This a problem as well on the G384RLT's, the awning is placed over the windows which are to high an thus there is no room to put a slide topper ... This has been addresses a couple of times at the Kz Rally's an I thought that someone said they had either put in smaller windows thus lowering the awning so you could put on a slide topper but I guess not Ugh !!!! This one of the problems thought-out the RV industry, the people who design these trailers never spend any time in them... We were told when asking the question about management spending time in their products they stated that they have workers at times spend time every so often in some of their products ... I know that the West coast Kz Rep owns a Kz 5th wheel, I once was told it was a G384RLT but last year (2019 Kz Rally) it was a different model so at least one Rep owns an camps but others I can't say A number of us have volunteered to test drive their products for free a couple of times at the Kz rally's, we get smiles an they say that's a good idea an then change the subject Safe Travels Chuck

For those with the toppers, do they help cut the heat at all? Been too many 100+ days this year and we can't travel north to escape the heat.

Yes they will and they have other benefits, but they also bring along with them their own set of problems like water pooling on the longer topers and if in windy conditions noise and the constant pull on the drip rail attachment because of the wind. Cleaning the roof of the slide (debris will still get in) and slide seal maintenance are some others. On the plus side if sized properly topers will shade the slide roof and will be added protection from water leaks.

The other point is that you don't have to climb on the roof or a ladder to sweep off the junk on the roof of the slide, ie pine needles, tree branches etc ... Here in the north western United States pine needles are everywhere do to large pine tree in camp grounds, the shed like crazy ... With really bad knees, bad back, bad ankles it pretty hard to climb ladders an thus I love slide toppers, but chagrin I don't have a slide topper on our slide over the theater seating an dinning table on the left side Ugh !!!
