So, after using my 14" KZ for the first time, I've come to the conclusion that the bathroom needs some work. What I mean by this is, I would like to remove the useless shower, and relocate the toilet to where I actually have room to use it. Has anyone out there had this done. Any recommendations, is this a major undertaking?
The shower in my mind is useless, I am 5'8 and my head hits the ceiling. Why wouldn't they just make this room more comfortable and install a outside shower

Maybe this is a dumb question by why wouldn't you have checked all this out before you bought it?

Funny thing is I kind of did, although I didn't close the door on the bathroom when I sat on it. It works fine if the door is open, but no privacy

Sounds like a large DIY project to me, you more than likely will have to relocate the water going to the toilet which is more of less the easy part... Then come the part about if the toilet is located directly over the black tank, ie toilet dumps direct into tank or is there a pipe between the toilet and the black tank...
If pipe then all you have to is some plumbing, put a new peace in-between each, if direct into black tank then you may have either cover old hole in tank or buy a new generic tank ...
Either way you may have to cut holes, relocate pipes and fix/repair a floor ...

I have a 2016 spee escape 191 (19 ft) it isn't much bigger than yours. Be patient, you will get use to the size and find your own route. Example, using the restroom for #2. Wait and do it when everyone else is outside. The whole camper is small and ventilation is shared with the whole camper. Your family doesn't want you to do that if they are in the camper. Wait, find a moment when they are outside. Since they are outside anyway, leave the door open.
As for the shower. I'm 5 10, I feel the same bumping of my head on the shower vent handle. A small shower is better than no shower. Every time I feel uncomfortable I remind myself I couldn't shower when I was in a tent.
Finally, my family loves to use the camper in early spring and late fall. During those seasons, it might not be as pleasant to shower outside. Install the the outside shower for more options, but keep the inside shower.
Just my two cents!

I have another thought, many of the camp grounds we go to have showers, unless you are boon docking use the camp ground showers an bath rooms, short walk make you more healthy, it least thats what the DW has told me now for years LOL Chuck and Hildi out and about

dlee "The shower in my mind is useless, I am 5'8 and my head hits the ceiling. Why wouldn't they just make this room more comfortable and install a outside shower" Some trailers have both But being so small they had to fit all the works in a so called drawer LOL I have to say it's a large undertaking to take out the shower and redo the bathroom, a good winter DIY project in your shop if you have one big enough ... AMEN Edd505, But some people want small not extra large like we have lOL If you by extra large as you well know then the DW can overload it, an then you have to buy a extra big truck truck with a 1000,0000,0000,0000,0000,000,000,0000hp as we both know LOL At this point I believe I own a stake in Pilot or Flying J truck stops, been hitting the off brand fuel stops as of late, save 15 to 20 cents per gallon on fuel most times... chuck get gas buddy app for your phone and you can save 20-50 cents a gallon. You may have to stray a few miles from the interstate but with the big tanks it's worth a few miles, .20 x 25 gallons is $5 buck a tank. Current locations 2.47, 30 miles away in the direction I'm heading 2.28 so I'll wait till I leave.

I filled in MO. 2.18, went across the Mississippi to Il. 2.45, not over 4 miles an 30 cent difference Ugh Ben trying to hit the off brand service stations as much as possible, Loves here in Galesburg is 2.45 but BP in town is 2.30 so will fill up on Saturday evening after it cools down thus get more in the tank Safe Travels Chuck and Hildi out and about in IL.

It's crazy that gas and/or diesel can have such a price difference just a half mile or mile away from each other. I have noticed that all of the truck stops are really jacked up in prices compared to other places. I avoid all of the truck stops when possible.

One of the problems is getting 50ft of truck and trailer into some of these small stations an looking out for the 12ft overhead with a 13'2" high trailer LOL Safe Travels Chuck and Hildi out and about in IL.

I know that feeling Chuck... I've got that same length or possibly a little more. That does pose a problem. I start looking at 1/2 a tank and by the time I really need it I can usually find a place I can get into. I did fill up at a truck stop on Wednesday (with all of the truckers) because it was over 20 cents cheaper than the name brand truck stop that was next door. Of course, it is just as hard if not harder to find a place to fit the rig in when it is time to get something to eat.

Most McDonald's have bus or RV parking, but not all of them, of course during the day a truck stop has parking and some have some pretty good restaurants (Iron Skillet in Petro Truck Stops comes to mind), some not so much (Pilot), Truck stops of America (TA) has some nice restaurants in some of there places an others not so much, just have to know which ones LOL ... As jetzen stated allot of Cracker Barrels have parking, the last one we were in more than likely would not have been a good fit for over 55ft truck an trailer, spots were pretty small but they were marked for campers We ate in a nice mom an pop restaurant last night, it didn't appeal to me when we first drove up but after we were inside it was very clean an the service was very good. First time in a very long time that I had Walleye, it was cooked good and lots of it, couldn't eat it all so today it's either a catfish or Walleye fish sandwich, yummmmmmmmmmmmmmm Safe Travels Chuck and Hildi out and about in IL.

A lot of times, I look for a large grocery store or Wal Mart parking lot with restaurants out by the highway. I park back there and take up several spaces and walk to the eating place.
And, oh the Iron Skillet... I haven't eaten at one of those in years. There was a Petro where I used to live (years ago) and I frequented the Iron Skillet. They used to have the best chicken fried steak.
When I'm traveling, the Cracker Barrel is out most of the time because it seems to take forever to get out of there and I'm usually wanting to grab something fast and move on down the road. When I'm not in a big hurry, that is a super place to get fatter at...

Now since we got way and I mean way off topic as jeeep sated, it may take awhile but you will get use to the shower and the times to use it and the head (toilet)as well. Even as big as our unit is we still have to make sure the others are not using such, shower, #2 etc (have to teach the grand kids about a fan Ugh) LOL Safe Travels Chuck and Hildi out and about in IL.
