I orderd 4 of the newer Goodyear ST235/80R16/10 rated at Max load of 3420 each today with metal valve stems which equal out to 6840 each axle a total of 13680 overall. Goodyear shop foreman stated they should work just fine with my G384RLT with air pressure of 80 to 85psi an no nitrogen .... If I went with the Goodyear G rated I was looking at around $1800 with tax and out the door .... I have ask four different tire dealers about the Saliun 637 ST 235/80/R16 but no one carries them around us locally .... With a GVWR of 14,995 that puts me 1315pds under if I go with the Goodyear ST235/80R16/10 , of course I do not believe we will ever be over GVWR but one never knows .... I'm also thinking that the Goodyear tires are E rated, so I am no better off that what I have now Ugh ! Not sure if it's any better then the Provider ST235/80R16 I now have on the 5th wheel I'm thinking that maybe I should wait till I get back east to look into the Saliuns or even Goodyear Chuck

Like you said I couldn't find them in stock locally. I found these tires online and was shipped to my door in 3 days. The local tire store mounted, balanced and installed steel valve stems on five tires for $140.00. I just put a few hundred miles on them on a quick trip to the beach. The ride was nice and temperature/pressure was excellent on my EEZ tire monitoring system. Hope this helps. simpletire.com/sailun-235-80r16-5541960-tires

73jer With shipping on the Sailun's $35.65 per tire and the price of each tire I end up with $176.05 per tire plus FET $5.48 per tire I end up with $182.53. Now add say $140.00 to get installed an balanced and metal valve stems it's almost a wash even thou the Sailuns are G rated and I believe the Goodyear's are not, but paperwork I have dozen't state the rating only that they are 10 ply. The Goodyear's are $179.00 per tire plus balancing for all 4 tires $54.00, metal valve stems $5.00 an Washington State tax $63.83 installed, so I think it's sort of a wash ... My worry is getting a tire either fixed or replaced if one goes bad, I am only getting 4 right now, spare can wait till after the Rally

Well I got cooled feet, I backed out of getting the new Goodyear tires, they were E rated same as what I have and I could not see spending the money for a E rated tire since I already have such. I am however going to put metal valve stems in the rims an get rid of the nitrogen Safe Travels & Don't forget about the Kz Rally this Summer Chuck

Chuck, one alternative you might consider is a very high quality E rated tire. I can recommend 2 tires. Bridgestone Duravis 250 and the michelin rib tire. Both are truck tires and very highly rated. I went with the Bridgestone's because I had a set of them on one of my earlier 5ers and had NO problems with them. I bought them from simple tire on the internet and they were delivered in 4 days no tax and no shipping. I paid a local commercial tire dealer $100 to install them. Altogether I have about $900 in them. I had the goodyear g 614s on my last unit and I honestly don't think they were any better than the bridge stones. JMO. note: UPS runs them on their delivery trucks and swears by them.

Take a look at Yokohama LT's, I run them on my truck and 5W. They wear good been running them about 10 years. My new KZ has the tires I took off my trade 235x85x16 Yokohama's. Yes I know it came with 235x80x16 but 5mm by half is 2.5 mm taller. Yokohama has a great warranty if you ever needed it.

Thank you guys Right now I am in a holding pattern, like I said I have the metal stems put on, air in tire no nitrogen any more only 110pds of the stuff we breath The DW is still dead set against me buying new tires, she keeps telling me that what we have is new and why should we spend eight or nine hundred dollars for new tires when we have new tires ... I have tried and tired to convince her that what we have is close to being not safe and marginal at best, her comment back is that the tires are new and they can 't be that bad otherwise they wouldn't have put them on ... Ugh This is a fight I am loosing and till one blows out I won't win, my only hope is that there will not be any damage to the trailer Maybe at the Ralley sitting around the camp fire we can get into a discussion on tires and why everyone is changing out what came on the trailer and scare her enought to come over to my way of thinking LOL Chuck

Just be sure to tell the DW that she is now completely in charge of the tires. Pressure, condition, flats, damage from blowouts and wrecks it's all up to her.

You can always Craig's list the "new" tires and that would cut the cost a bunch.

Edd505 That was my thought as well, jetzen and i believe you as well made that suggestion a while back. along with the Roto-Flex pin box that came off our 5th which I replaced with a MorRyde Pin Box ... The DW wasn't going for it, she said replacing the valve stems was not a problem but she wanted me to run the tires for at least a year before changing them. I almost thought it was world war three when I told her I was going to Goodyear and getting them changed, WoW, after i told her I had call and cancelled the appointment she said "i'm glad we do not need to change out new tires for new tires" I like a good husband said "yes dear" Ugh:( Mind you the DW is a great person but there are times when she has her opinion on something and is a hard headed German (she was born in Germany BTW), this was one of these times... One of the other things she will not do is shop at Wally world, she hates Walmart, when the tour bus company was picking up people on quilting tours in the Walmart parking lot she would park across the street in another lot, she was very strong minded about this an I was even surprised she walk on Wally Worlds parking lot to get on the bus LOL Safe Travels & Don't forget about the Kz Rally this Summer Chuck Chuck

Well guy's when and if a tire goes, which I'm hoping it won't, but if it blows one all I will do is say is "those &%%^^^^((*^ China bombs I new I should have changed them" in a low voice well enough for her to hear I can hear her now, "maybe we need to get some different tires ", I will not say a thing except "OK I think your right dear" Chuck

Hi Chuck, you might check Les Schwab up in your neck of the woods, where im at they carry the 14 ply Sailum tire, I have the Continental 14 ply and the Geo Star also on different trailers and they have all worked well for me, all bought from Schwab, of course as mentioned convincing the DW is another thing.
On the stock china bombs the 10 ply have a speed rating of 65, and as we all know the transport companies deliver them at much higher speeds than that, we all have had them pass us like we are standing still, therefore the tire is already stressed being delivered to the dealer and ruined in my opinion, then we load our cargo etc adding who knows how many more pounds into the trailer we purchase, go down the road with more weight on the tires and KABOOM there goes the skirting and who know what else on your new purchase, I don't know how may times I have read about this issue on other forums, maybe this will help you convince the DW Good Luck and Safe Travels...

Actually the Provider tires that are coming on the new Durango Gold 5th wheels as original equipment are M speed rated which is 85mph and just so you know China is where Sailun tires are manufactured. While I would like to see made in the USA on the sidewall China is not always a bad thing.

I have thought about checking with Les Schwab, we had their tires on our old 5th wheel an were happy with them, I also have their tires on my 10k flat bed trailer I haul old antique International farm tractors on.
I did not know that they sold Sailum but I had not been there to ask (see below)
I was going to have the metal valve stem put on by them and was going to ask them about the 14 ply Sailun tires when I had it done, but have not got around to it. To many things in the last few weeks have gotten in the way Ugh ...
jetzen believe me I know that 90% of all tires are now made in China, all of Les Schwab's tires I know are, if fact I had a tire blow out on the old 5th wheel that was from them, they replaced it without a problem.
I am still working on the DW to open up the bank account for new tires, I plan on going to Les Schwab for the valve stems and then call her and say "honey they have a really good deal on the upgraded tires that fit our 5th wheel, don't you think we should buy them so we know they are safe when going back east" )
What ya think, will it that work if I wine a little while calling her LOL

Late to the thread. For one of my previous 5vrs, I purchased from www.trailertiresandwheels.com/ a upgrade from 16 to 17 package - wheels and tires. We checked, and they were inflated properly by them. All we did was mount them. My cost was less than $1800 delivered. Good service and customer support. Would do again if needed.

Well all Here I am almost 5000 miles on the Provider tires an no metal valve stems yet an still have the nitration in the tires, been to the Kz rally an headed home. But there may be a light at the end of the tunnel yet, DW while driving across S Dakota yesterday made a statement to me after a Indiana pickup with brand new TT being delivered someplace passed us going about 70mph. The DW looked at me an stated "I never thought about our trailer being delivered all the way from Indiana by one of those guy's, so our trailer more than likely had over 2500 miles on the trailer before we bought it didn't it". I said like a good husband, "Yes I believe it more than likely did" , her comment back was "sorry I never thought of it that way". So now with the 5000 miles plus the 2500 miles or trailer tire have about 7500 miles on them an the wife is now thinking maybe the old guy is right, so there maybe new tires in the near future we will see, I am in the land of Les Schwab now which has Sailum tires Safe travels Chuck & Hildi in S. Dakota headed for the Barn
