So I have fixed a number of small issues with the 2017 Durango but ran into a problem I can fix. Call the local dealer! Sorry you didn't buy from us so we will not work on your RV??? They are the ONLY dealer in the state. I purchased at a RV show while on vacation after finding the perfect unit. So I bought from a WA dealer that was at the show in AZ. The book says 2 year warranty and it's just over a month old. Local dealer 150 miles, nearest AZ 600 selling 1900. I have a call into the factory and will keep the forum posted. I'll await the response from the factory.

This is one good reason to attend the National Rally. We are hoping to be able to schedule factory service plus this will be the forum to address your frustration directly with a factory rep. Hope that you can resolve your issues with your local dealer. One thing to remember and this is not a lecture but try not to vent or convey your anger/frustration with your local dealer, most often that only makes matters worse. JMHO

One other thing while I have not, did you get a copy of the KZ warranty and read it. I'm just asking and the reason why is that is one of the reasons I do not own a Heartland product. It actually states in the warranty that only the selling dealer can repair their product under warranty, which when you think of it is kind of stupid. If I were to purchase a trailer from a "local" dealer chances are the trailer is not going to break down in my driveway in NE Ohio. It will break down 500+ mile away Murphies Law ya know. I can almost guarantee your trailer will NEVER malfunction within 200 mile of the selling dealer. Here again JMO

Had a problem and my selling dealer would not do the needed repair saying it was no problem. I contacted KZ and requested another dealer. That dealer put me off too months, complaining that they didn't sell the trailer and then totally botched the job. Had it repaired at the factory during the last KZ rally.
With all the warranty grief that this trailer has given me, I now have more faith in the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy. Warranties, IMHO, are just a figment of the imagination.

Hummm may be there is reason that when they offered the other warranty that stated if you were 150 miles away from the selling dealer who sold you the unit you could get if fixed. Not only that but go to the front of the line, I believe it was called the warranty for life, cost you I believe $90.00 a year to keep it valid .... This may have been a great test to see if it's fact or fiction ...... Edd505, who was the dealer in WA State that sold you the unit, maybe a call to them might get you into that dealer you called .... I bought from Tacoma RV, called the other day about an appointment, they stated that it would be last part of April before they could get me in ... I believe as johnr stated to me, this is the busy time of the year were people are trying to get their trailers fixed so they can start camping ... As jetzen stated if you can hold out this may be a great reason to attend the Rz Rally Lastly. what is the problem, maybe one of us have run across it and can tell you what can be done, Johnr has help me and I have seen lynnmor give people advice on different things as well Let us know

1. Here is the quick answer, I was in AZ and went to an RV show, ended up buying from a WA dealer there, & I live in NM. Two dealers here Albuquerque 130 miles or Ruidoso about 250. Right now I am thinking I should have gotten another Jayco. 2. The problem: Bedroom TV works with cable, Main TV works on cable but is full of "snow" and I have no over the air TV on either set. Yes the booster was on and yes I did the channel search. I have opened all connection areas and looked for loose connections, in Bedroom, Main TV area,& Basement. 3. Contacted the factory today, their answer was dealers are private owned and we can not force them to work on any RV. They have authorized outside repair and here is the catch. A. Get us a written estimate on repairs and shop rate, we will send the parts. How do you estimate trouble shooting? B You will have to pay and submit for reimbursement. C. The outside dealer may wait for payment from us it's up to the dealer. D. You are correct on the time of year, the dealer I got my Jayco from was booked till near July. ( a great dealer not surprised he is booked)
So far I have remained calm with everyone, so far. The manual clearly states traveling contact the nearest KZ dealer. The KZ two year warranty is worthless without a dealer that will work on them.

Turn off any and all LED lamps inside, outside and near the trailer, then try a scan. LED's can cause much interference on antenna reception. If you have a volt meter, test the cable at the antenna connection, you should have 12 volts between the center conductor and the outside shield. Report back, and we can try other things.

With the help of Johnr I did find the booster button and as I said man is it small LOL I do not know if you got the warranty for life, we were told that if we bought into it we could get service anywhere in the country that sold that plan, they stated that it would also put us up front of the line for repairs LOL .... Hearing what the factory told you I'm glad we didn't bit on it. Here is a link regarding a problem a Montana owner had ( www.montanaowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69100 ) He had no problem with the dealer (Tacoma RV ) they worked with him, it was Keystone , since Tacoma RV sells not only Montana but also Kz this could be a plus for you, that if you bought from them of course .... I have had issues when trying to use cable with the booster on, it messes up the signal. I use the television program for cable and get nothing, then remember to make sure the booster is off, and re-program the television.
So, check to make sure your booster is off when using a cable connection.
My booster switch is in the bedroom of the Durango, in the television nook, mounted on the ceiling in the 12V outlet plate.

That little switch not only turns the power on and off, but it also connects and disconnects the cables for the antenna and cable input.

Edd505, I just got off the phone with KZ customer service about warranty repairs and this is what I was told
1) If you are within a 2 hour drive (125-150 miles) it must go back to the selling dealer. 2) If you are not call KZ customer service and they will direct you to a KZ dealer that will service your unit. They can not guarantee a timeline on when service will be performed. 3) If it is a component failure (like an A/C unit) call the manufacturer of that component and they will direct you as to were to go for warranty repair. May not be a KZ dealer. 4) if you need an emergency repair call KZ first take trailer to the nearest RV repair facility and get a written estimate call KZ with the amount of said repairs for authorization. Pay for repairs out of pocket and KZ will reimburse you. THEY WILL NOT REIMBURSE YOU WITHOUT PRIOR AUTHORIZATION!!! So they say

johnr the button was on doing over the air scan and off on cable scan - that is not the issue lynnmore Had tires put on my M/C today I'll check for power at the antenna tomorrow jetzen in theory that is how it works. Ask what happens when it is not the selling dealer and they (KZ dealer) refuse to do the work. My selling dealer is 1800 miles north in WA. Like I said in the other post, bought in AZ, from WA dealer, live in NM. No warranty service in NM, I did not check the dealer 200+ miles east. chuck the booster button is located behind the bedroom TV on the ceiling in mine - like I said cable works in the bedroom and the main looks like to booster is on, full of snow. I was off when I did the channel scan for cable & on when I did over the air. Really small green like shows on /off. I am confident it is a wiring issue or a failure of the antenna or booster. This is my 3rd 5W and I know how the system is suppose to work. Now the good. Contacted another large dealer shop in TX who didn't ask anything about where it was purchased. I was told bring it in Monday and I'll try and work you in the shop in the next two weeks. That dealer has likely made a return customer. Checked the dealer web site after the call. SURPRISE, they sell KZ. I knew they were there, one of 3 large dealers just across the boarder, but not that they sold KZ.

Edd505 Will there may be a light at the end of the tunnel then I have to say that I have heard this story before on a number of brands, you didn't buy it from me so suck wind, oh BTW have a nice day, click ...... I believe that Kz should demand their dealers to honor their warranty no matter where the trailer was bought. If a dealer will not honor such then pull the Kz line from that dealership .... But more than likely Thor would not let them do such, but if they could I'd bet after a couple of dealers got the product pulled by Kz the others just might wonder if they are next and fall in line .... johnr steered me onto the button behind the TV in the bedroom, like said, I was looking for switch not a little tiny and I mean Tiny button LOL ... I'm still wonder about the Bedroom slide, I looked under, around, stood on my head and I see nothing that permits it to not open all the way. Like I said, the seal in the main slide pushes again the wall, so should the seal/padding push again the bedroom wall and it lacks 8 or 9 inches from do such. I even crawled unto the storage area, looked/lifted the bed an looked under both today trying to see if there was a way to adjust the travel, no joy. It sure is solid flooring looking up I'll say, was even surprised to see a heat duck outlet in the storage area, so the storage area is heated, now you do not see that every day. LOL I believe this is the problem or at least I hope it is, I do remember while backing up in the dealers lot right before we were leaving a loud bang, even thought I was in the middle of the lot and away from a building it almost sounded like I had hit something pretty hard. I got out of the truck, I walked around the trailer, I looked under the trailer, along the side of the trailer and saw nothing. At this point during the PDI I looked at everything twice, sometimes three times, I do remember looking at the bedroom window and seeing it close to the side of the trailer, thinking to myself, is that slide all the way open, I thought I would have noticed such while inside the trailer doing the PDI, it sort of would have stuck out to me like a sore thumb... I have a RV repair shop just down the road from me, they are always busy, lot is always full of high end motor coaches, not so much 5th wheels or TT but the will work on them as they have worked on my stuff a number of times in the past ... They are not cheap, $125 an hour but if you call and ask for an appointment your in with a few days, most repairs are out the door in a few days, no longer than a week unless it really bad. I had a roof put on my 33ft 5th wheel along with new marker lights, repaired water heater, all the roof vents were replaced, all was done within a week and a half and the roof looked like it came from the factory ... We shall see Look forward to jetzen getting theirs this weekend, he better ask lots of questions for us Kz rookies LOL

chuck I could not agree more. If you sell anything you represent the parent company and agree to work on their products, if you won't work on them you don't sell em.
Hope you get the slide issue resolved. I have looked and the bedroom slides all enclosed and it does extend all the way to the seals.
No one is cheap any more, the bike shop I use just charged me $133 an hour. OH by the way when we took the front wheel off the speedometer gearbox fell apart. Estimate $140 for parts and an hour to install.

LOL Maybe you should have taken the bike to the RV repair shop, they may be cheaper LOL Yep looking in my storage area/basement trying to see if there was a way to look for an adjustment for the bedroom slide it was sealed. I also looked under the bed, no joy there either, there has to be a way. How else could they get the slide out or do any type of adjustment other than pulling the complete bed apart an going thought the floor that way, Nawwwwwww they wouldn't have engineered it that would they Chuck

lynnmor Once I thought I had heard that word used, but it seems like maybe the early 1900's, but I really can't remember, I may have forgot to write down what it meant, or was that I did but miss placed it

OK the unit is in TX for repairs. Shop manager said he has seen the TV problem before on another brand. He said when the walls are stapled in they hit the coax & manufacture will not pay to remove panels. He said they end up making a new hole to run wire? He said he would call before the do that. I hope that it's not a staple! I also had a noise with the drivers side main coming in today and he will check it. Very nice staff there today and they had me drop the 5W in a fenced lot inside their fenced property. Estimate two weeks to get it fixed, works for me.
