NYS doesn't have the non-commercial A license. I do have the R endorsement for MH over 26k pounds, but the reg isn't clear as to trailer weights. It would seem rather silly to be able to legally drive a 40k# MH towing a 9.9k# trailer, but not an 8k# 1-ton towing an 18k# trailer. I've posed the question to a few DMV employees/managers and they were clueless too. Of course, these were the same folks who hadn't ever heard of the R endorsement, and tried to tell me I would have to take both the written and driving tests, despite that I currently held a valid class B CDL.
If I have any issues, I'll claim ignorance. Their ignorance.
I guess I'll have to keep looking and thinking about things. The V3815TK is only 4' longer, but has a NCC of 4640# (3rd axle). Maybe I could live with that.

Thanks kaboom. I was figuring the bike separately. I think I get it now that any stuff/person weight includes common things as well as personal items. Would 1200#/person be more realistic a number just for guesstimating?
Anybody ever swap out axles, suspension, tires,..and recertify gvw (if that's even possible) to add NCC? Probably not cost effective(?) vs buying another model, but I was wanting to stay in that 39'-40', or less. Seems like units with similar floorplan and higher NCC all come with 3rd axle & additional 6'-8' of length.

Hey all. Possibly looking for a 5er TH for extended living (maybe 3-4 months) so I can take my HD Heritage with us (DW). I really like everything about the V3411TK especially the GVW, floorplan, and <40'. The only exception its 2795# NCC rating. I remember reading somewhere in my forum travels that one should figure on 1000#/person of stuff. Between that and the bike, it doesn't leave much room for any propane, water or gas for the genny, or to add another bike on occasion. So my questions are: Is that 1000#/person accurate - already includes some water weight, food, clothes, gas, propane,...? Any way to increase the NCC? Thanks.

Sorry for your loss. We had to let our "old man" go earlier this year, and I still feel his absence. Dogs are some of my favorite people.

Looking at Venom myself (leaning toward the 3411TK). What tipped your scale in favor of the 3911, and if you don't mind, how much did you pay? Thanks.

Thanks for all the replies. Sounds like the Venom is going to be a step up from what the Inferno was, possibly an apples to apples with Cyclone/RW, Fuzion, Thunderbolt XLR,... It ticks me off a little that they haven't updated their website. Not every potential buyer has a dealer with a unit in their area.

Under every Inferno and StoneRidge Sportster floorplan on KZ's website it says "EXISTING DEALER STOCK ONLY." Does this mean both lines are going away, or just maybe getting updated?

Bummer. Yeah, I kept checking in about once a day since I posted without any change. I tried to remain hopeful, but had my doubts.

I just tried to go there and was greeted by:
"Access forbidden! You don't have permission to access the requested directory. There is either no index document or the directory is read-protected..."
So maybe they're trying to fix things(?).

We purchased the Goldrush Nugget from our local dealer in southern Illinois. He ordered it for us after we had seen a sample of one. It took about 6 weeks to have it built and in stock. I would think that the price range of $45,000 would be a great negotiation point. Not sure where you are from but I definitely would recommend Larry's Trailer Sales if from Illinois or Youngblood RV if from Kentucky. Cool. I'm in upstate NY near Rochester. Thanks for the info. Keep us updated on how you like it.

Good day and congrats! Which Goldrush did you get, and what did you pay? I've been checking them out online and am intrigued, especially with the Nugget. Local dealer doesn't stock, nor have plans to stock, anything higher-end than Durango, so a road trip would be required. Rather than searching around for other dealers, I'm thinking of heading right to the source.

What's everybody's take on the new Goldrush models? Looks like a lot of trailer (maybe too much @ 40'+) with an impressive list of standard features at a reasonable cost. Although, I'm not sure about the two different wood shades, and the exterior front nose graphics aren't the most eye-appealing.

Slide toppers, check. Yeah I saw another thread discussing the thermostat issue. Figured I could always spring for them myself, but I'll have to press the dealer a little. My "local" dealer (about 50 miles away) is Family RV Center in Newark, NY. Haven't called or been there yet. Their online inventory doesn't list any Stoneridge model, so I'm open to other dealers, if there are any, within 100 miles. Regarding spending my money, I figure I'd be remiss if I didn't take advantage of the hard-learned knowledge of others, even if I have to spend a little more for it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did see that reel on the option list. I'll have to add it to the list. What's your feeling about the slide-out covers?

After much research, I'm heavily leaning toward getting a 36IK with Generator, 12 cu ft Fridge, BR TV, AC Heat Pump, 15k BR w/heat pump, Dual Pane Windows, Air Ride Hitch, Wireless Back-up Camera, Washer/dryer, G-rated Goodyears, and Auto Leveler w/remote.
Am I forgetting anything and/or including something I shouldn't? Thanks…
