Hello from the Seattle/Tacoma area š I became part of the KZ family last Wednesday (4/5/23) when I purchased a (used) like new condition 2017 Durango Gold 382 MBQ. This thing is big and heavy lol. I plan to live full time in this rig. My last two 5th wheels were Open Range Ultra Lights in which I lived in them part time. I have a few questions Iāll post in the appropriate forums now that Iām approved. š

As well our 2017 G384RLT came with a handle for the spare tire, wonder if dealer was just miss informed or blowing you off ... I think that close to the factory if you were at MorRyde I would have stopped by an ask for a crank or ask why there was not one put in ...

Not sure about your leveling indication, you might try resetting/re-calibrating such, ( your owners manual will tell you how) the tank gauges are useless an for many years in trailers have been .... Safe Travels Chuck

Has anyone modified a Lippert Solid Step Hand Rail part number 799640 to fit a Lippert XF series Solid Steps? After we purchased the Hand Rail we discovered they were not compatible with the steps because the steps are an OEM product made for KZ (it is on our 2022 KZ Durango Gold 356RLQ). Any ideas or suggestions before I list the hand rail on eBay? Thanks View AttachmentWe installed MorRyde Grab handles on out MorRyde solid steps an it fit just fine without any mods

Edd
that's what I based my price on, looked at both an figured it might go faster with a lower price point, we might even let it go for $40K if it sits to long, one never knows ...
They fif a really nice job of detailing it an setting it up, no cost to use, but to get the darn all states sticker off the out-side of the dinning room slide was a different story, $300 to repaint the spot it was glued onto ...
I made a list of all the add-ons that were put into the trailer an placed it on the counter, still had all the material, Mfg brochures etc that came with the trailer but left out the repair paperwork LOL ...

Think I would need a couple yellow pads for a list of everything, box is unchanged, most everything else was.
Well the trailer sold in just over 2 an a half weeks after placing it on their lot for $45k, the did all they detail work an not sure if they repainted the side because when I went back to get our check the trailer was already gone an I didn't ask ...
I keep looking out in the driveway an missing it but the 45k in my pocket feels lot better than keep dumping money into it an i'm still not sure about the seals if they were fixed properly ...

Chuck, thank you for your input on this matter. Iām very happy that KZ treated you well and Iām sure they are very nice people. Iām sorry that you had those issues with your Durango in the 4th year. My issue as Iāve said is that I donāt understand passing the buck onto someone else when they offer a 2 year bumper to hitch warranty. In my opinion the right way to do things is the dealer should contact KZ, then KZ should approve the work, no matter who made the component. KZ should then contact that manufacturer ( in this case Lippert) and deal with them directly, not tell the dealer to do it. The entire process has taken more than 4 months and the work is still not completed all due to the back and forth between dealer, KZ and Lippert. Itās ridiculous and not efficient at all! Our first KZ TT was a 2012 Sportsmen Classic. We drove that thing all over the eastern United States without a single issue. But, we needed a bigger camper due to the kids getting bigger and the dog. So we opted for the 2021 Connect, which was really manufactured in 2020 before the pandemic hit but listed as a 2021. I believe that this trailer was just not made with the right axles or leaf springs for the weight of the trailer. If it was specced out by KZ then they really are at fault if they installed too small of an axle for the overall weight. If it was inferior quality from Lippert then yes itās Lipperts fault. Either way KZ should honor the warranty and this shouldāve been done weeks if not months ago. mmare
I will say that if you read the owners manual you are suppose to contact your dealer 1st an then they are suppose to contact Kz ... My problem was that I did such an the dealer more or less stated it was my felt that I had de-lamination do to bad seals, thus I myself went back to Kz ...
Also if you read between the line the Mfg of the product such as your stove, microwave etc in your trailer is on the hook the 1st year an then after that Kz is on the hook to either repair or replace ...
I will also say talking with the people at Kz in I believe February or March, can't rememeber stated that they were out three or more months on warranty work when I told them about the trailer before taking it to the dealer ... The fellow on the phone stated such an maybe I wasn't smart enough to catch on to what he was saying but I told him I would bring the trailer back to them, maybe I should have said at that time i'll make a appointment an see you in August ... But the fact being he didn't say why don't you make an appointment an we will look at it, nor did my dealer say they would ship it back to the factory ... I was willing to take it back, thus i could see my family ie son, daughter in Ohio an bother them till the trailer was fixed either on their dime or mine, the person at Kz so of choked when I told him what the dealer was going to charge to do repairs ...
So the end of the story is this, a month an a half ago I parked the trailer at the Local RV dealer an told them anything over 45K they could have it, the trailer sold two weeks after I parked it on their lot ... thus end of story an trailer !!!
Safe travels

This is why I an a few others went to the MorRyde equipment, heavier Shackles, brass bushing in the wet bolt kit an the X factor cross bracing ... There was at lease four to five different owners who changed out the suspension from LCI to MorRyde in less than 5K because of what I call plastic bushing in the spring hangers ... Safe Travels
