ahh yes Brinkley the darling of the industry, the new kid on the block. I have seen them, not overly impressed, just like Alliance when they first hit the street. Same thing. The RV press just fell all over themselves with praise. People buy into the propaganda and find out a short time latter that overall they really aren't any better and sometimes can be a lot worse than the rest. Remember this when the VanLeigh Vilano came out they were the hottest most bestest thing since sliced bread...now they are extinct.
As far as the dishwasher is concerned we have a Gold and they use an apartment sized residential dishwasher as opposed to a drawer style RV dishwasher. We are most-of-the-timers and use the dishwasher probably every other day. We have had no issues with it and using the dishwasher actually uses less water than doing dishes by hand, about 3 gallons for a full wash and rinse.
In fact in our 7 years of ownership and 50,000+ miles, living in the trailer 7-8 months of the year the only things that have failed is the Rotoflex king pin, a carbon monoxide detector, one A/C unit a microwave and the outside LED light strips under the awnings. Things that I have replaced because of wear are the tires, the brakes, slide topper material, wet bolts and equalizers. Things that are showing signs of wear that will need to be replaced soon the awning material and the graphics are showing signs of age. I have had nothing fall off while in travel, but I do check the plumbing connections regularly because they have come loose.
My Gold is starting to show some signs of age but nothing that can't be fixed, repaired or replaced easily. I had a Montana (read money pit) before this and am glad I didn't purchase another or a Grand Design or a Forest River product. JMHO at this price point a Durango Gold is going to have the best build quality you will find, but perfect or trouble free they are not.
KZ is one of the oldest RV manufacturers over 50 years, with many industry awards for both innovation and customer service and while things can always be manufactured better, and have better customer service, you don't last that long in the RV industry by building junk or treating you client base poorly.

I follow most of the RV groups on facebook just to see what they are doing and there are some rallies that sell out within a couple of hours after opening.

Pardon my lack of knowledge on the rally but what makes it so sought after? It is a great time to meet with other KZ owners and have a nice event -- I attended in 2021 - and KZ provided roof inspection and resealing along with other options to have equipment purchase and install. We had Factory tours, an Amish Dinner Meal, meeting with the company leadership, and other sights around Elkhart -- I had a blast !!! - looking forward to going again this year --- If you like -- I'll share some pics from that attendance -- Alex Z Hi Alex, all the pics are in a folder one for every year I have done a rally on this Rally with KZ board.

Basically, the GEO Method. :-) Lyle No not quite the same as GEO. GEO uses harsh chemicals such as Borax, which is a high alkaline/sodium substance and can damage sensitive parts like gate valve seals and sensors. Dawn is a good cleaner but has no qualities like Pine-Sol. Pine-Sol is a cleaner and disinfectant and has had no harsh pine tar in it since the mid 80's. The Calgon bath oil beads are a water softener just like the liquid Calgon water softener just easier to find. Also get yourself a Valtera back flush connector so you can give your tanks an enema at least once a year. worthwhiletech.com/calgon-vs-borax-which-is-better-water-softener

Many RVer's think there waste tanks are septic tanks...they are not. Your wast tanks whether grey or black are merely "HOLDING" tanks. They were never meant to be septic tanks. A solution of Pine-Sol, Calgon bath oil beads and water...lots of water is all you need to keep you holding tanks clean and sensors working properly. Most often the black tank is not flushed properly using enough water. Chemical additives claiming to break down waste only cause other problems. The solution recommended by the pros who clean tanks is into a one gallon container 8oz Calgon bath beads, 40oz Pine-Sol and enough water to fill the remainder of the container. Shake to mix. Shake before using. 4oz of this solution will treat a 45 gallon holding tank. Think I'm full of crap??? Here is what the pros say kleentank.com/www.bing.com/videos/search?q=kleen+tank+videos&&view=detail&mid=B1BE30F7045386BB7295B1BE30F7045386BB7295&&FORM=VRDGAR&ru=%2Fvideos%2Fsearch%3Fq%3Dkleen%2Btank%2Bvideos%26FORM%3DHDRSC4

I've seen a couple reports of people saying they had their TT or FW scorched by the rocket exhaust from a regen on a diesel. Any truth to this? I sure as hell don't want to fry the skin on my FW if I don't have to. Banks claims their Monster Exhaust, with more of a side delivery, prevents this. Just looking for real-work experience if it's even something to worry about. TIA, Lyle I have not heard of any problem with melting the panels just leaving soot marks. What I have noticed is that on General Motors Diesel HD trucks with factory exhaust they position the exhaust tail pipe so that the exhaust is directed directly at the lower right front corner of the 5th wheel. Go through the campground and look and you can tell who owns the GM trucks. Ram and Ford diesels with factory exhaust do not seem to have this problem with tail pipe placement. The other thing I have noticed is that on Ram gas engines with dual tailpipes is that they come straight out the back and make for an echo chamber effect when hauling a 5th wheel making the exhaust seen louder than it actually is. Just my observations.

Attending our first KZ Rally this August. We need to coordinate attending the Rally with some other things. Therefore, we are interested in knowing what takes place the last day (Aug 12) of the Rally? Thank you. The rally itinerary will not be available until mid July. Some years the last day is a free day (nothing planned) some years it is not. It depends on the vendors and how they apply their time at the rally and how we can best plan seminars and side trips around them. Only you know how to best schedule your time. If you need to be somewhere else on the last day of the rally you should not let the rally impede on your plans no matter what the rally has planned for that day.

When using 6 point hydraulic leveling, on a side-side sloped site, is it ok if one or both tires on a side are not touching the ground? Will the hydraulic levelers do their job? With our old TT, without auto leveling, one only thinks of jacks as stabilizers and not holding up the rig. Or, should I lay enough 2x lumber under the wheels to ensure contact 'with the ground'? What's the detriment if the tires are not contacting the ground? Any other thoughts on this subject from any other perspectives are greatly appreciated. It is not advised to have the wheels off the ground when leveling for any length of time. I would recommend putting blocks under the wheels.

your pin weight is 3340 not 2340
Thanks.. I just made a change to the post and added the missing 1k
Seems we have too much weight in the pass through now yes?
How did you weigh your truck? Empty or with all the things you normally carry when going camping minus the trailer. Your 8720 seems light for a dually that is loaded ready to go like you mentioned above. You have 3 numbers you must satisfy GVW truck GVW trailer GCW

re-read what I said. At 5:49 of the video it is clearly stated the propane is stored and transported as a liquid. And the link that you provided states the same. Only after the propane exits the tank does it turn into a vapor. You would be 100% wrong about that I am afraid. I could add more and more references to the fact that the liquid boils off in the tank if needed. You are correct!! Honestly I had forgotten that part of the equation and thank you for bringing it forward. When I commented to the OP my mind was leaning towards a frozen regulator rather than a defective regulator.

2022 Ford F-350 Crew Cab 8' bed Dully Diesel 2x4 XLT 2022 Durango Gold 391RK
So far, only total rig on CAT scale. Tomorrow will do just the truck. Full tank of fuel (48 gallons). NO fresh water, grey tanks empty, black tank had maybe 15 gallons. Fully loaded like we normally do. Truck had my wife and I, plus 3 dogs in crates in back seat. Portable Generator, and waste tank with 3 X-pens in bed. 2 bikes and an aluminum ladder on back of trailer.
CAT Scale numbers. Truck and Trailer
Steer Axle: 4,800 Drive Axle: 7,260 Trailer Axles: 13,400
Total GVW: 25,460 ------------------------------------------------
CAT Scale numbers: Truck ONLY
Steer Axle: 4,760 Drive Axle: 3,960
Gross: 8,720
If I did this correctly, this is my trailer gross and pin weight. Pin takes some of the weight off the trailer axles.
GROSS: 25,460 - 8,720 = 16,740 for trailer gross weight
Gross of Trailer 16,740
Trailer Axles only - 13,400
------------ Pin weight = 2,340
Truck specs as taken off door sticker: GARW Front : 5,300 GAWR Rear : 9,900
GVWR: 15,200 --------------------------------------------- KZ Spec Tag
STOCK Trailer Gross Weight Rating: 16,000 STOCK Cargo Max: 2,850 STOCK Dry Hitch Weight: 2,570
Of course, KZ doesn't weigh each unit getting ready for shipment nor does the dealer after adding his or customers options. I have no idea what the stock axles weigh nor do I know what the new axles weigh, same for the king pin.
I have the Flex Air pin box with a rating of 16,000 lbs 5th wheel Reese Hitch with a rating of 25,000 lbs
---------------------------------------------
We have a "Flex-Air" pin box MORryde 7,000 lb independent suspension with disk brakes. These axles are heavier than the standard
Are we good, or bad?
your pin weight is 3340 not 2340

I had 8 Chinese tires between the car hauler & RV, one blew on the car hauler on its 2nd trip. That was enough for me. Went with Goodyear endurance. My last tire failure was due to the valve stem failing, so its all metal valve stems now. I wouldn't touch a Goodyear tire to push it out of my way. I was a Goodyear tire dealer for 35 years and the last 8-10 years you could see a definite downturn in the quality of their products. Today they are no better than their Chinese counterparts. I hate to say it because I am a firm believer to by US made whenever possible. I can take you to any tire store, pull 10 random Goodyear tires and find manufacturing defects in at least half of them. For a company that pioneered the vulcanization process, they can't build a tire that the tread will stayed adhered to the carcass, they also can't or refuse to build a tire that is round or can balance with a reasonable amount of weight. Their heavy duty all steel G series line of tires have been plagued with failures and lawsuits since their inception from the late 1990's to present. These are the tires used on HDT's, MDT's Class A motorhomes and 5th wheel travel trailers. Goodyear tires made up until 1994-5 were the best of the best, after that they are garbage, a mere shadow of the company they once were. I know there are many out there that swear by Goodyear tires but the thousands of bad Goodyear tires that have gone through my shops, I stopped selling then in 2006 and would not recommend them any style, model or usage to my worst enemy. that extends to their ST trailer tires also, not just passenger, LT or G-unisteel.
