Hi. Was out this weekend and wanted to scrub the top of the awning. It is a care- free one. I do not think it tilts. Anyway to easily clean this? Mix a weak bleach and water solution. Roll out awning, brush solution onto first 1 to 2 metres of awning. Roll it up, sit down and have a beer. Wait 20 -30 mins, unroll it and hose off top and bottom. Clean of all mildew. Done

Have a solid mount in a 6'6" Silverado box. More than enough room. All the retailers but one I spoke to discouraged me from buying a slider. After seeing my trailer hooked up and turned to 90 degrees I have to agree. Imho, waste of money. Watch what you are doing and you will be fine. If you think you are capable of pulling one of these units down the road you should be capable of watching your turns.

WOW, kmart4321 That's a really nice rig and truck, maybe we get to see it close up in the future at the Kz Rally Chuck Sadly no. I am in Europe for good part of summer this year. Hope to get a trip out to the Rockies though before summer ends

Thanks for the good info everyone. Kmart4321 - What model of Durango do you have? If not a gold is it a full profile? (I think thats only Gold and 2500 but I'm not sure) 358bhk. Pull it with a 2016 Silverado 3500 the with Duramax. Pulls like a dream and no trouble getting it into where I want to go

I pull my Durango with a stationary hitch and 6'6” box on my Silverado 3500. More than enough room for my needs and I have had it at 90 degrees. Btw, I have a Curt system with the quick mount. Cats ass for ease of install

Kind of had the same fears! Hoping only the converter went but am prepared for the worse! Thanks for the input, taking it to a shop when I get home from work Friday. Good luck. Keep us posted. It may be worth getting an electrician in to look at what's up with the outlet as well and make any necessary changes.

I seriously hope your camper is insured. I fear you may have just put 240 volts through appliances designed for 120. I would suggest you bite the bullet and get a professional involved before going any further.

Same. Except I have to disconnect. I have 2 black tanks and send antifreeze through both to protect the lines. I also make sure to out some in freshwater tank and then open drain valve to make sure I see pink coming g out of hose. Many people overlook this.

Also make sure to put some in the freshwater tank if you had any water in it during season. I then open drain to make sure antifreeze flows out and displaces water. Same for low point drains. Ensures no water right at valve

I looked at an Ultimate hitch but restricts you. Truck is married to trailer, can't haul another 5th wheel without moving adapter. Went with a Curt Q24 myself. Very happy. Cheers Btw, all the hitch shops I talked to discouraged me from a slider. All said it's a waste of money on a 6' 6" box. I took my trailer to 90 degrees with no problem. Any further than that I shouldn't be trying to park there anyway

My 2016 3500 Silverado with Duramax diesel gets up to 30 miles per US gallon running on cruise at 100kph. Very impressed. Averaging 25+ on highway. 15 in the city depending how hard I work the turbo . Towing 15,000 lb 358BHK can be anywhere from 8 to 15 depending on hills, speed and wind conditions. If you want to make big changes in your mileage, ease up on the throttle and leave an hour earlier. When pulling something, speed = high fuel costs. Nothing will change that.

Found a good deal on a Curt Q24. Way more hitch that I need but gives a nice safety margin. 45 mins to put it together and adjust for a snug fit. Clean, and easy to remove.

kmart4321,
To be on the safe side if it were me I would choose the slider. One mistake can be very costly. I purchased a new hitch when I changed tow vehicles,(8' bed) I chose the Curt Q-16 with OEM leg system for a Ram 3500 SRW. I chose the Curt because at the time no other manufacturer mentioned anything about meeting the proposed SAE reg. J2638. The Q-16 hitch head is rated for a 4,000 lb. vertical load and a 16,000 lb. trailer. More than meets my needs. I've had the hitch now over a year and just returned from an east coast trip, 6,670 total miles pulling our Durango 315RKD. No problems what so ever, very pleased with it. All I can say is do your homework, there are numerous ones to choose from. Find one that fulfills your needs. Happy Camping.
New Hitch 005.JPG Very clean install. That's what attracted me to the puck system. Long weekend up here in Canada this weekend but I'll be looking more into B&W and Curt next week and whether sliders are available in the GMC OEM puck system

I have the B & W companion turn over ball slider model. There is some slight "klunking" when comming to and taking off from a stop which is kinda annoying. B&W advised that was normal due to the slider latch. I did use a friends non slider B&W and really liked it. What length of box do you have? I have the "standard" box, 6 foot, 6 inch. Wondering if I will need a slider

About to pull the trigger on a Silverado 3500 High Country with Duramax package. Truck has the fifth wheel prep package in the bed of the truck. Anyone got a preference to make and model of fifth wheel hitches? Prob don't need a slider with the standard box. Trailer grosses just under 15,000 lbs Thanks

I have 5 slides on my 5er. All the rails are in place over the slides, just a matter of buying toppers and putting them on. I'll be interested in seeing responses. On a side note, a couple downsides I have heard: noisy if windy, especially in bedroom areas at night. Makes it difficult to clean top of slide/inspect seals.

Hello, I live in my 2013 spree. Lately on outside where hot water heater is there is a small drip o coming from it leaking onto ground. Has anyone had to replace water heater? Is it expensive to get a new one?? I'm not handy will have to have it done. Thank you Kristine I would make sure it's the tank and not a fitting for one of the hoses before I would replace tank. Also check to make your anode rod/drain plug is sealing correctly. Might need some Teflon tape on threads to get a good seal. Bottom line, before assuming it's the tank, look for the leak with system pressurized

Gary, I would be careful with a 3/4 ton truck. You need to check your GVWR of your current vehicle, most 3/4 tons run around 9-10,000 GVWR. Not to mention your payload capacity. That is the reason I stepped up to a 1 ton SRW prior to purchasing our Durango 2500 315RKD, hitch weight on that unit empty started at 1,980. Now put me, the wife and all the stuff in the 5TH wheel and we are over the capacity of the truck. Will it still pull it? Yes but you are over your truck's rating (not good) if you were to have an accident. I towed a Cougar High Country 291RLS with my 3/4 ton, GVWR of the Cougar was 9,000 with a hitch weight empty of 1,200. Be careful with the GVWR of your truck. Do your homework carefully. Happy Camping.... Gary, What truck did you go with? What kind of cab and truck bed?
