This is on a Durango Gold 2015 370 RL, gross weight 14,500. The tires on the unit are rated 3,520 pounds which would be 14,080. This concerns me, does anyone have a comment?

you need to take the hitch(pin) weight off of that to calculate how much will be on the tires. dry hitch weight for that trailer is 19% 2250 lbs. if you kept the same 19% when you look at gvwr it would be 2755 lbs for the hitch. so 11745 on the tires. not a bad margin. if it were me I would go with a g rated LT tire for peace of mind.

I always figure 20% of the gross trailer wt for a 5th wheel will be the king pin wt (payload on the truck). If you have a toyhauler then a little more till you load up the garage.
For TT's 10% of gross.
Switching to LT tires is always advisable. Otherwise with ST's you are limited to 65 mph and always, regardless run max PSI on the trailer.

I am running two 7K axles with a trailer GVWR of 15,500 lbs. My actual (scale) weight loaded is closer to 14,500 lbs. As noted in my signature I upgraded to G rated tires. The Goodyears are fantastic.
