Hi All It is me again wondering if there will be a rally this fall. We had a wonderful time in 2013 at the first rally, those in attendance talked about a fall rally. We would like to know if it will happen as we want to make reservations for our other fall trips but want to work around the rally....it was a great time. L & D

Attended the first rally in 2013...would really like to attend another, especially in the northeast. There are several people with KZ in NY and PA.

Sounds great we only had about 12 units at the first KZ Rally in Shipshewanna in 2013. I will send and e- mail and see if any of that group would like to come. Most of them were from Michigan and East.
We will check our calendar. We are close by...live in the Jamestown, NY area in Western NY..been to Cook Forest several times.

Vagov,
We stayed at Camper's Paradise this past Labor Day. We Had an enjoyable time with old friends. Wife and I tried Kayaking for the 1st time down the Clarion River (gonna buy a couple....we liked it). We can definately go back next summer with NEW FRIENDS.
Curiousity: What sites did they hold for you??? Have you camped there before?
I am that other PGH guy that responded to your "welcome" post with a bunch of JAGOFF remarks concerning Pittsburgheese. Maybe we can be of assistance if you choose to plan a North/East Rally.

Shoestring shoestring, last june we stayed in cooks forest ridge campground, but they are putting some new renovations in the BEST loop, so we decided to try campers paridise for this comming june rally, i am trying to get the whole back section of the campground, (51-83 i beleive) off the top of my head. , by the pavillion, ours to use free of charge for our potluck if we get min 10 reservations. mostly water/electric sites plus some full hookup sites available. they didnt give us a exact site numbers yet, but said they would put us all together, i have 15 sites reserved under my name john kreuzer. tell them you want to camp with the popup portal rally! last year we had 5 popups, a truck camper, and one tent, hoping to at least double it this year, plus excited to use my new tt alot this comming year. all are welcomed. it would be great to get some KZ,s in the mix also! we didnt kayak, but rented canoes for a 10 mile trip, it was awlsome!! deff want to do it again, please consider joining us , we can have a double KZ/popup portal rally, or come as a guest!!! what part of PGH are you from? i live in the south hills< and really like my new spree escape 196.

Camper's Paradise? ?? Like I said, we had a good time there. However, I think I should warn you about sites 53-61 (look at the site map, that section is double what 47-52 has in the same space). These sites appeared to be converted "tent" sites that they doubled up on. It was a grassy patch from one end of the road, clear to the other, with nothing to really define a site. We counted fire pits to make sure we were in the right site. We had site 60, the water/electric hook up was in front of us....behind site 61. I had to park with by awning right at the post, and run my hook-ups under the trailer to reach them. The post consisted of a single 30 amp trailer hook-up and a single 20 amp receptacle shared between site 60 & 61. Luckly I got there 1st, and took the 30 amp; not sure how that 30+ footer ran his trailer off that 20 amp. I walked the row....every two sites had the same single set up (the water had a double bib). Like I said, seems they doubled up the sites. We had sites 58, 59 & 60 for our KZ 170, a Pop-up and a tent. With my trailer jammed up against site 61, we spun the po-up in site 59 and had the tent on 58. With the pop-up spun, we could all hang-out by that fire pit (good thing because my truck was basically parked in our fire pit. We lost water on Saturday & Sunday morning right about peak "morning shower time". They fixed it relatively quickly, but I heard it happens frequently. So what am I saying? ? We like the place (really like the cook forest area), and would not mind a return trip there. However, for those expecting to "plug in" to the comforts of home, those site will fall short. Unfortunately I think most of the full hook up sites are permanent campers. Nine trailers in 53-61 will be rubbing awnings with their neighbor. Shame too....because all those permanent full hook-up spaces are, well, spacious. Even 47-52 had some elbo room. Just my thoughts.... by the way, we live in the North Bessemer Section of Penn Hills (not it really isn't as bad as they say...although it sure ain't what it was when I grew up here in the 70's-80's).

shoe string, we had our last pup rally at cooks forest state park ridge campground, we really likes the back section, we had sites 135-141 but as of aug 2014 they closed off that entire loop to renovate the first 7 sites into full hookup, not knowing when they expected to complete or reopen that section, we decided to move to campers paridise so we can start planning early, since most people already have several campouts scheduled in the books already. i just looked back on the DCNR web page, and it looks like they reopened the loop for ressies, minus the first seven sites., i am talking to my people on pup, to see if they want to re-move back to cooks forest again, for a repeat rally, i personally like this campground better, the only down fall on this section of the park is that it is a non-freindly pet section they do have a pet section up front of cg, so anybody wanting to stay there with poochie, could still do so, but sites are not as impressive in my opinion. if we deciced to move back, everyone will still be very much invited to join us, we could hold our double rally there, bigger sites, and cheaper costs, let me first call the state park ranger station and re confirm that these sites are now re available. will keep you posted

Shoestring. We are still going to stay at campers paridise for our pup rally june 26-28 some guys have resessie already made and they are non refundable. So we will make the most of it. You are still. Welcomed to join us still. We wil try getting best sites as possible. Just looked at dcnr website our favrorite loop is re opened for ressies. At cook forest state park We stayed in sites 135-142. Last time. That whole section is great. We can hold another kz rally at ridge campground in cooks forest. End of april. If that interests you as well?

Would like to attend one of the rallies but only if they allow pets. I am not sure the one at Paradise will accommodate our 30 footer with slide and awning. Let us know if it will work for us.

blue grass , if you choose to come to campers paridise, they coud accomadate your 30 footer, probally on a full hookup site, they didnt give us actual site numbers but said they would book us together, or as close to each other as possible. call and tell them what you want, 814-752-2393 pets welcomed with no extra charge. im probally bringing mine. mention that you want to camp with the popup portal group, we get to use of the pavillion free to hold our potluck dinner(S) with enough reservations. if you choose to come to ridge campground at cooks forest the whole front section is pet freindly, , we could start rserving these, as of today looks like the whole loop is opened for the last weekend of april 25-27 or sometimes in late sept 2015 would work for me, if this works for others, ,however, this is a real popular campground, and usually books full real fast.

There has only been one KZ Rally....2013 in Shipshewanna, IN. We had a great time with around 15 units. There is no set rally organizer. Anyone can set up a rally and those that can attend do. It can be set up anywhere. There were people at the 2013 rally from AZ, NY, PA, MI, IL, LA, FL, VT....I know I have missed some but it is obvious there is a desire to travel to rallys. If anyone wants to plan one, one thing to consider is to select a CG that can accommodate large units so all can attend. Owners come with all size KZs.
