I hate to have my first post sound negative but I am looking for information on the wall/closet slide in my 2012 3710T Inferno Toy Hauler. I am on the road with it and can't open the slide. Its Sunday or I would call KZ for help. I have tried resetting the controler with no results. One side will go out about 4 inches and the other side will not move. I tried unhooking the connectors from the controler to release the brake/motor and tried to push the slide out by myself but it was a no go. Anyone know how much pressure it takes to move the slide with the motor connectors unhooked? From the operating manual it should go out by hand. Also after going to the manufactures web page They say my motors are obsolete, ouch on a 2012 really. I will be staying a Month in it and my Wife wants it fixed but I just want it to open for now I'll have it fixed when I get back. lol Any quick fixes HELP!!!!!!!!

Try to check the side that does not move--sounds as if you might have a broken sheer pin on the drive for that side.

I know on my Durango I have a manual way to open/close the slides. Usually a "bolt" type head under where the slide is.

I tried everything the manual said to try. I just may not be pushing hard enough to open the slide manualy. To get to the bolt that unhooks the motor the slide has to be open and mine is closed. I will stop by a Dealer on my way to the RV park today and see if they can look at it. I'm sure my wife will be happier if that slide is out than if she has to deal with it closed for 30 days. Thanks,
I will report back on what they find.

I checked with two local dealers and no one wanted to check it out. I called Lippert that ownes the schwintek slide now, I talked with their customer service rep. and was told they only help people get their slides back in not someone that needs it out!!!!!! lol I guess it's not a problem if its stuck in just when it's stuck out. I sent an e-mail to KZ one night and first thing the next Morning got a call back from them wanting see if they could help. I would tell his name but didn't have permission, Thats what I call taking care of your customers, good job KZ. We didn't get the slide out but we tried. I'm just happy that you can talk to someone from KZ when you have a problem. I'll get the slide fixed when I get back home its probably some little something I'm overlooking. But the Customer Service from KZ made my day!!!! Thanks okbluemax

That is just another reason I'm on my second KZ--the thought of getting another brand never came into play. Great service buys loyalty.

Thomas your lucky yours will be under warranty. I bought my trailer from the second owner and it has no warranty. The first owner took the unit home and then decided he wanted a Motorhome instead of a fifthwheel, the second owner bought it and took it to the lake once, then didn't use it like he thought he would and sold it to me. Basicly it was brand new when I got it. My dealer has it now and says the front motor is bad, should be getting it back sometime soon. Hope yours is a quick fix. Thanks, Max

Its sad to spend this much money to have this happen. As a owner of inferno 1014 3712 the problem with bedroom slide is commom, mine was stuck out too. The only way to get it in is to push not from bottom. Disconnect 2 plugs from modual under slider which releases motor brakes. Get your pick up park beside the slide out stand on rail of bed push. high enough that you center of slider edge. one side at a time or 2 people push it's a bitch. Once in check plugs inside b/r on left and rt. sides upper corners. Inferno customer service and schwinetech know they have a problem, getting it fixed on the road is the too much red tape. They replace my moter and zip tied my 2 connections togeather.

Ok, I got my slide fixed it was a bad motor.(cost was less than $400.00 installed) Dealer thought water had entered the motor and caused the problem. I would check your seals on the slide every now and then and make sure your voltage on the battery is up before trying to move the slide. Low voltage on a 12 volt motor will overheat it in no time. Mine works great now. Now back to enjoying my Inferno toyhauler. Thanks, Max

Its been two months since having a bad motor replaced on my Lippert/Schwintec bedroom slide. I opened it one time at the dealership when we picked it up. And now the other motor is bad. Hey whats the deal, I know they said the old motors are obsolete, now I know why, they had a bunch of bad ones. And I got two of them. One vacation messed up , four trips to the dealer and about $800.00. This is getting old quick. Everything else we really enjoy its just that dam bedroom slide!!!!
