Wife and I got away for a nice 4 day weekend without the two young kiddos and stayed at the Fredericksburg KOA. Gotta day, it was great. Very friendly staff as soon as we arrived, along with nice folks around the camp grounds. We were definitely the youngest around, probably by 15 + years 😂 but it was great! Saturday night even had a couple guys come out and sing some good country songs that had all the attendees hoopin’ and hollerin’! If you’ve ever been to the area you know all the great things to do around, however if you haven’t, there is hiking in Enchanted Rock and Pedernales Falls, obviously plenty of wine and beer around, good downtown shopping, and the weekend we went was the Johnston City Market days, which was actually pretty good for a small flea market, if you go get some Salsa De Leon salsa, very good! If you are looking for a place to camp around that area, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Cody

Fredericksburg and the hill country are really nice areas to visit. Being from the "land of cement" (Houston area) it is always good to get out of the city and head out that way. Thanks for the info on the campground.

Thanks for the info on the campground. We liked Fredericksburg KOA. Nice place. We're from the land of cement - Philadelphia and Atlantic City! Safe Travels.

Wife loves Fredericksburg, we may get there again this summer. We are from the land of sand, wind & cacti, south central New Mexico

We have stayed there in the past. Nice park, and Fredricksburg is a great place to visit. We also like the Vineyards, a new park on the north west side of the city.

Fredericksburg, Texas? I went to a wedding there once some 35 years ago! My Uncle's wife is from that town. Funny.

Made it into town last summer. Pacific War Museum was a must see, www.visitfredericksburgtx.com/listing/national-museum-of-the-pacific-war/1018/ As for town, I was not impressed one micro brewery after another, people walking the streets carrying drinks and oblivious to anyone or thing around them. There was a few shops with interesting crafts & trinkets. Not the quaint little town we had driven through 15 years earlier.

It took a while to realize you weren't talking about the Fredericksburg KOA at koa.com/campgrounds/fredericksburg-washington-dc/ in Virginia. This is a great campground if you want to wander up to Washington DC or the Civil War battlefields at Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, and the Wilderness.

I had my service dog and NO ONE looked down, I was safer walking in the road. The National Museum of the Pacific War was amazing if you like museums.
