Anyone traveling into Maine checking out Bar Harbor and Acadia NP. Bar Harbor Campground should accommodate most up to 30' TT's anytime. No reservations and no credit cards. Reasonable prices. Best choice IMO for a last minute trip to the island as reserved sites are hard to come bye. Free shuttle around island. www.thebarharborcampground.com/

Up in that area, less than an hour south of Bar Harbor was Moorings Oceanfront RV Resort. It was a nice place with great views of the ocean. It's either in Belfast or just outside of it. Then a leisurely drive got you to Bar Harbor or Acadia for day trips.

If you can plan ahead, the new Schoodic Point Campground in Acadia National Park (Schoodic Peninsula) has pull through sites with water and electric which is perhaps the only National Park in the USA to feature hookups. The Schoodic Peninsula is lovely and it is easy to access the scenic "bold coast" of Eastern Maine from there. Make your reservations well in advance. This portion of the Park was donated by a wealthy patron who made this unusual National Park Campground possible.

We’re heading there this summer, hopefully, if the virus doesn’t shut everything down. We’re staying in Smugglers Den, which is just outside of the park. Seems reasonable. Any word (good or bad) on that place?
