In last year's national Kz rally we discussed having region rally's for owners who could not make it to the National Kz Rally
So lets look at what we discussed ....
National Rally
The national kz rally the wagon master books a block of camp site's months in advance once he get's the approval from Kz
that they are going to sponsor the rally. Once Kz states the go ahead, the wagon master will notify the owners who attended
the last years rally that Kz has given the ok an to book their sites, thus they go to the so called head of the line ...
This year the wagon master gave owners 10 days to book camp sites an sign up for the rally which some did but not all, then
the wagon master opened the sign up for the rally an notified general Kz owners of the up-coming 2018 rally ...
At the national rally you get to meet an talk with Area sales reps, different TT an 5th line production managers, Upper level
management such as the VP's an President of Kz ...
Also the wagon master sets a date with the camp ground to close bookings for the rally an open up camp sites for other
campers who may have a different band rally following the Kz rally. Last year there was a far larger rally just after the Kz
rally with over 90 some owners attending ...
At the national Kz Rally the Kz factory is only a mile an a half from the camp grounds where the rally is held... Thus the Kz
maintenance techs are only a short distance away an can run back to the factory for parts that are needed ....
Also the LCI & MorRyde factories are only a few miles away as well. so they can like the Kz techs run back to their factory's
an get parts as needed ... Also if there is any major warranty problems that need to be addressed again these factory's are
just down the road an a owner can take their units to the factory if needed ....
Also since these factory's are so close they can give tours an show you how their products are made ...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Regional Rally's
Regional Rally's are most often only two or three days long inlike the national rally which is a week long an may be
during a week day since camp grounds are not totally booked like they are during a weekend ...
If the wagon master of a Regional really books well in advance he or she may get a weekend but often this is pretty
darn hard an also depends on how many owners will so up for such a rally...
Like the national rally the camp grounds like to have bookings for the rally's booked well in advance so they know
how many open spots they have for other campers ...
But like the National the wagon master should ask owners to book on their own camp sites ahead of time thus taking the
load off his or her shoulders if monies are needed to reserve camp sites. Thus the wagon master is responsible to booking
camp spots in advance an may not have to foot the bill for such bookings ...
At a Regional Rally the wagon master of that Region rally can ask for the Kz Rep from that area or region to attend, he or
she may be able to attend possibly if notified well in advance but it all depends on what time of the year it is an if there
is any major shows that he or she may have to attend ...
Then there is getting a dealer or dealers to support the Regional Rally with Tech support, since dealers are not owned by Kz they
do not have to support a rally such as this if they do not want to ... They also do not have to provide tech support nor any type
of parts or repair if needed unlike the National Kz rally where you have numinous techs an parts available only minutes away ...
This is not to say that Region rally's are not a good thing, they are, but there has to be a good organizer as the wagon master
an get all their ducks in a row to provide a fun time for all ...
One just has to know when attending a Regional rally that the tech support may not be on the level of the national rally
or even not at all ... The region rally may only be a fun couple of days or over a weekend to meet with other Kz owners an
have a cook out or good conversation around a camp fire or look at other owners trailers an see how they have did DIY
projects or look at someones brand new trailer ...
So if you know someone who is a good organizer within your Region ask if they, or if you are such want to be a wagon
master for a Kz region rally there are a few owners on this form that have done such an can provide you with the in's an
out's of being such ....
I will say the hardest part of being a wagon master is making sure the camp grounds have your spots booked an the owners
who say they are coming do come ... That's why you have the owners book their own bookings at a camp ground were the
rally is being held an not you as the wagon master, thus if they back out or do not come it's on them, not you to pay for the
camps site that is vacant. If you need help ask another owner who is coming to your region rally to help you plan for food,
games an camp fires, don't ever put all the load on your shoulders as the wagon master
Safe travels
