I was just about to do that... this "work" thing keeps getting in the way of me getting things done. But it does keep me fat, lights in the house, and diesel in the truck!!!

Five LONG days left. I had a big long list of things to do today to get ready as I will be working nights Wednesday through Saturday... but ended up getting called in to work today instead of doing what I needed to do. I'll get off Sunday morning, and the "rally wagon" will be rolling about 11 PM Sunday night.

We are now in Karney NB all day, leave in the morning stopping at Adel (Des Moines West KOA) Iowa I believe for two days, Illinois and then Indiana ... Chuck and Hildi out and about BTW did see some transporters hauling Durango 2500's west yesterday and I believe one full paint Durango 384 parked in a camp ground we passed off I-80, sure looked like one from the pictures on their site A few Sportsmen as well

I have decided on the first stop in North Little Rock for a couple of days. Then out I-40 through Memphis and Nashville and on to Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky for a couple of days. Then it will be off to the rally. Right now I am planning on only making 2 overnight stays before I get to Shipshewana. I only made reservations for North Little Rock as I may find something interesting along the way I want to stop and see. The rest of the trip is all up in the air after Little Rock right now.
Jetzen, I will see what traffic looks like when I go through Tennessee and the Nashville area and let you know.
But as for today... it's off to work for tonight through Saturday night.

Chuck, are you in Missouri? Pretty tricky plan you got there... getting her close to Texas so she might want to come back!

All I have to say is fat chance, we have been in the upper 90'es since we left Idaho an last night we had a sever thunder storm with winds in the 70mpg range with all kinds of lighting ...
The DW's comments this morning was there is no way in hell will I ever live in Texas or the mid west, I hate the heat an last nights storm only want me to go back to the Northwest were it cool an no lighting ...
Now I had to tell her or remind her we have had lots of lighting in the northwest this past winter, an we do have high wind in the valley were we live, it also has been in the high 80 and low 90's for the last 30 days with no rain ...
Her comment was, " not like what we are seeing an feeling here, again I am not ever living here or Texas in my life time "
So all I can say is UGH !

She is a very nice wife and a very good mother to all the kids, but once her mind is made up it's near impossible to change it, in this case you would be better off raising the Titanic than getting her to move to Texas an after last night anywhere in the mid west ... Her daughter has been working on her for three years now to move to Delaware, she has thought about it a few times an then the daughter said the four letter word (snow), that was all that had to be said LOL ... Of course I could be like jetzen, come September or October head south to Florida till April Safe Travels Chuck and Hildi out and about in MO.

Hardly any rain temps in the mid 80's October thru March. Then came April and I couldn't get out of there fast enough, middle 90's high humidity when it wasn't raining. Came home to 40 degrees and flurries in NE Ohio.

well walter If it's 40 or 45 and raining or no more than 70 Hildi is happy, she at time complains about the rain but not to often. I believe it's in her blood being born in Germany it has stuck with her all her life. From what she has told me her mother loved the Northwest do to the fact it was like the weather were she came from an I believe she passed it onto her daughter Ugh ! Mind you I'm not a fan of 95 to 100 any more, but I like the 80's an lots of sun, I get really down when it rains 30 days in a row or more, I believe last year was one of the wettest years on record in the Northwest, Hildi was very close, she even stated maybe we should go south to see some sun... I almost choke on my coffee when she made that statement, we have friends in Arizona that have invited us down many times. They even have a full hookup next to their house so we could stay there all winter or for a month or so, but she worries about the house ... But we have the daughter and one of her friends that either stay or visit daily, check on the cats, get the mail an even cut the grass, I have amateur radio friend 4 doors away that checks on my radio stuff that is running an the neighbors all know when we are gone an look after the place so I do not know why she worries so much Ugh ... I believe the whole thing is she misses her sewing machines, since we do not have one with us and all she can down is hand sew I believe she is getting into the DT's an need to touch her sewing table and machine We are going today to a factory that makes some sort of fabric, she had a smile on her face when we were in Oregon at another fabric manufacturing plant (Pendleton Woolen Mills) so things will be looking up today LOL Safe Travels Chuck and Hildi out and about in MO.

I think I will leave her alone... I don't want to have to leave the rally early!
I arrived in North Little Rock this morning about 11 AM. I was out here and there this afternoon, and I have never had a gps tell me to "leave the road" but mine did it today. I was going to see the big dam bridge (that's what it is called) between North Little Rock and Little Rock. There is a hydro plant at the end of the road at the dam and you have to turn left into the parking lot. I guess it could not think of any better way to say it.

Well I can tell you that Hildi uses her I-phone for our directions, it has run us around the block more than one time. It Likes to run you thought small streets and neighborhoods as well... Were we are camped today we wanted to get back onto I-435 to I-35 north, it took us thought a couple of side streets that I'm not incline to pull our 5th wheel thought. So when we leave in the morning we are going out the way we came in, even thought there is some pretty steep railroad tracks that we had to come over I'm sure if I take it slow we will clear I hope without a problem ...(fame's last words right) Safe Travels Chuck and Hildi out and about in MO.
