Wife and I were loyal Jayco people for a lot of years. We wouldn't even look at anything else. Went to our normal dealer (Jayco only) and wanted to buy a new RV and they promised to get us information and ignored several of our requests. We went to the next closest Jayco dealer who happened to also be a KZ dealer and he said "I can show you Jayco, but let me show you something..." KZs are made practically next door to Jayco, using the same materials and the same type of employees. We walked through several of the high end KZ models and ended up buying a unit sight unseen. We love our Durango. Just a couple months ago I asked the wife if she wanted to go to a big RV show and look around and she said no. That's how comfortable she is with it. I will put a disclaimer on here that my unit was purchased before Thor bought them out. Another Jayco Eagle traded for a KZ. So far the KZ is as well built and has way more features for the $$.

I picked up my C241RLK on May 12th, and we've been been loving it! A couple little things here and there, but the dealer was very helpful getting it all sorted out. Hope you enjoy yours as much as we are loving ours!

Update on our 2018 241 rkl. Been camping in it for about two weeks now and no problems also it pulled quite well with our 2016 silverado with the v6 rated at 7100 tow weight, only pulled it about 70 miles but no problems. So far we really like it.

Picked up our new C241RLK this evening. So excited to take it out next weekend. Question for current C241RLK owners: we got the sofa that pulls out to a queen bed. It doesn’t seem to be secured to anything. Should it be? Will it slide around on the floor as we travel? I am used to the smaller campers where everything is nailed down. Just want to make sure the dealer didn’t miss any details. We found a few minor things that they attended to before we pulled out. Thanks!

Congratulations on the delivery of your new trailer. I don't know about the sofa mounting, but you might try asking your dealer to find out for you. Or, if they happen to have another one on the lot, you might go check it and see if it is secured any way.

I think it’s fine because I just remembered the sofa will be behind the slide room when we travel. It won’t move.

If the sofa moves and it's near a slide, you'll probably want to make sure it's clear before opening and closing your slides. I'm sure you don't want sofa or trim bits flying around.

I agree with johnr, I sways an I mean always check to make sure everything is clear of slides before opening or closing them, I fogot once because I was in a hurry an paid the price, a new cabinet door on our old 5th just before we traded it in Ugh !

Yup. Been there done that too. We all learn the hard way to check and double check when loading up to head out. We forgot to secure the free standing table in our prior unit once. Only did that once. 😳

Just bought a C241RLK about a month ago. Was able to take it out once before winterizing. Everything seemed to work fine for the most part. I couldn't get the hot water heater to heat up using electric only, but I found out there are some reset buttons you can hit. Will try that next year. The only other "anomaly" was the holding tank meter/gauges. I started with both black and grey empty of course. When I had used 1/3 of the fresh water, the black read 1/3 full and the grey read 2/3 full. That math wasn't working for me. As I mentioned, it was our first time out so I'll see what it does when we start camping again next year.
But overall, love it and can't wait for next spring.

Hi Hannahsdad. For the electric hot water heater, there can be more than one switch to turn it on. There's one on the control panel near the hot water propane switch. There can also be one on the hot water heater itself. I've attached an image I found online to help you locate that one. For the tank levels, it really depends on the size of your fresh water tank and the size of your black and grey tanks. The indicator will quickly move off of FULL fresh water tank when you've only used a few gallons. It will stay at 2/3 until you're below 2/3 of a tank. So in reality on a 50 gallon tank, a 2/3 indicator could mean anywhere between 45 (just throwing a number out) and 33.5 gallons. 1/3 indicator could be anywhere between 33 and 17 gallons in the tank. And empty will indicate anywhere below 17 gallons. Tank monitors are notoriously bad in the RV industry. They make ones that are more accurate that fasten to the outside of the tank, but they are pretty pricey. You'll get a better feeling for your tanks and how full they are after you use it for awhile. Good luck!

I have a C241RLK and that is the type of water heater in it. Make sure that there is water in the heater or it will burn out the electric element very quickly. Good luck

LOL johnr At last years Kz rally I had a write up on the electric side of the water heater not working Ugh, while we were gone to the RV museum he fix ours by putting a circle around the black switch with an arrow pointing at such. Electric heater now works perfect an I got the raspberry's the next few days from the group at the rally LOL ... Point being even thought more than likely the tech showed me that switch when doing our PDI I had forgotten about it, even when I called the service department at our dealer months before the rally the least they could have done id stated "did you turn on the switch on the hot water heater it's self along with the one on the panel" Ugh Now the warning to everyone "IF YOU EMPTY YOUR HOT WATER TANK when winterizing TURN OFF THE SWITCH ON THE HOT WATER TANK OR YOU WILL BURN THE FILAMENT UP"
Safe Travels Chuck & Hildi
